Growing up in the deep south of Germany with multi ethnic friends and big interest in many different music genres of the world, Borrowed Identity built his wide knowledge in music. This variety in his musical taste is also the reason why he is working under different aliases producing a big variety of sound from ambient to house to experimental music and everything inbetween. Borrowed Identity debut EP on Quintessentials is another great example for his multistyle approach to music. You’ll find elements of house, disco, techno, ambient and more – always with an imminent love for music. Borrowed Identity released his first 12” inc. a Mark E remix on Foul&Sunk last year. That was just the start of an impressive career we dare to say. Borrowed Identity is a music freak and works very fast on tracks. Guy Gerber's Supplement Facts, Traveller Records (Finland), the Legendary Sound Research, Stripped & Chewed (Chicago), Catz N Dogz Pets Recordings and soon Mistress all released some splendid Borrowed Identity tunes. The fourth FRI release will be out by the end of September with an EP that carries the right amount of emotion for the season. It could be said that La Riff provided the ideal soundtrack for the end of summer.

La Riff delivers four tracks that offer a plethora of Sun Haze-like textures and pads that are smoothly combined with juicy basslines that meld into a solid house drum groove foundation.

The EP "Smooth Dancer" captures La Riff's current production and musical sensibility as he expands his sound into the deeper house grooves while maintaining his ability to tastefully blend slices of disco and funk influences.

The second track, Perchey's L'Observatorie, stands out as an excellent fit for the FRI concept, with La Riff successfully utilizing characteristic electro elements such as Roland 808 's for drum rhythm and a classic 303 electro bassline beneath lush chords, setting a feeling of nostalgic tone.

As the third and fourth tracks, respectively, Waxy and Cosmic Dust share a deep house sound aesthetic. La Riff effectively accomplished this by incorporating organic instruments like sax and flutes with glimpses of progressive basslines as a key ingredient for the resulting sound of an EP suitable for beach house music themes.

Kyodai are back! It's been ten years since the duo debuted with 'Breaking' on Local Talk. A track which made a big impact on the house scene all across the globe, played over and over again. He may be based in St Petersburg, a city not known for being a sun trap, but Mikhail Khvasko AKA A Vision of Panorama is incredibly good at making warming, summer-ready Balearic beats. Further proof, should it be needed, arrives via his latest EP for Cala Tarida Musica. In its original form, 'Unconditional' is a terrific slab of Balearic nu-disco/Balearic house fusion - all rubbery bass guitar, smooth bits, gorgeous chords and twinkling melodies. It comes backed with a breezier, breakbeat-sporting 'dub vinyl edit' (an even sunnier and more attractive affair) and an 'instrumental' pass of the more house-centric take. Rounding off another fine EP is 'Shall We', a colourful fusion of jangling house pianos, attractive keyboard sounds and squelchy synth-bass underpinned by a box-fresh, post-electro boogie beat.
