"Darryl is a crazy mysterious person. From what I know, he grew up alone with his mother without being much in contact with the rest of the world. His father's music record collection was the only connection with the other cultures and the world. Somehow he got a weird idea in his early childhood that this record collection contained all the music that had been ever created. He persuaded himself that the only way to make new music is to combine bits and pieces from that collection together. So he kept listening to those records and after a while, he was able to recollect their parts and combine them in his head — thus creating new music from what was already there. My role in this process is to communicate with Darryl and transfer his ideas into reality".

We love putting together bits and pieces from all over the world and give new and established artists a plattform. „Enjoy our cuppa“ Vol. 2 is a delicious blend for sure - two new artists, two Quintessentials buddies, four great tracks! Starting off with our man from Helsinki, Saine, and his „love music“ - the title says it all! A track that can be played anywhere anytime. Moving on to another good old friend, Andy Ash. Andy has been around for many years, releasing on labels like Delusions of Grandeur and Stilove4music. „Bread“ has a rough yet smooth bleepy edge and a nice old school flair. The flipside presents two new faces, Jank and Decent Rides. Japanese artist Jank is like one of these hidden gems! It’s a rare thing but sometimes it happens...a tune! You know one of those jams you just want play over and over again because it embodies something truly special, something undefined but authentic that just makes perfect sense to your ears but also gives you that warm goose bump feeling. This is exactly how we felt when we first heard the demo of “Speak To Me”. With a classic spiritual Chicago house feel, a thumpin’ (not pumpin’) 4/4 production it’s all topped with a melodic vocal sample that brings back memories to classic jams like Seven Grand Housin’ Authority “Love’s Got Me High”. It’s simple yet powerful house music jam-packed with honest emotions. Just play it, we promise it will make sense to you!

In order to make this release even more powerful and valuable we asked Ricky to step in to his James L’Estraunge Orchestra pseudonym and transform (remix sounds so limiting) the track into something completely different. The result is something truly magical, a huge live jazz-funk escapade that sounds like if The Rotary Connection and Charles Stepny went on an orchestral late 70s jazz-funk-fusion journey...its big, epic and full of musical surprises!

Soul Renegades

Scottish producers Ricky Reid (The James L’Estraunge Orchestra, RK Fusion, The True Rebels) and Craig Smith (6th Borough Project, Fifty Fathoms Deep) are Soul Renegades, a duo that between themselves has more house history than most of us. With early releases dating back to the 90s they previously got music out on labels like Restless Soul and Rainy City.

Little do we know about Moondance, in fact when these tracks just showed up in the inbox one day, we said ”Moon who?

All we got was a link to a dropbox folder with tracks signed Moondance. One thing is for sure though, the music we got sent speaks volumes and that is why we didn’t hesitate twice when we decided to sign all of them. First up is "Never Found Love".  

Never Found Love comes in two different shapes. While the original is a colourful, rich, and jazzy piano driven house track with a vocal to tie it all together.
