The Toy Tonics crew is known for being addicted to two things: vintage music machines and old vinyl. 100% music aficionados. On the „Tonic Edits“ series the crew shares some of their favorite old tracks - in a reworked version. 
This time COEO get back in time. They destroyed a couple of 1970ies disco jams. Recut & repasted them. And gave them their special COEO touch. Of course it’s irresistible! 
This release comes on vinyl only first. Later maybe could be out on selected Digital sellers.. not sure yet.

Another month before the new Joey Negro album drops digitally and we give you another single. This time its the funk fuelled boogie of "Stomp Your Feet". The original JN versions feature authentic chanting disco vocals, analogue synth riffs galore and live percussion, all underpinned by a fat "Good Times/Bounce Rock Skate Roll" style bassline. Whilst the ever dependable, super talented Hot Toddy flips it with a very different more hypnotic nu disco groove, delivering a mix that builds and builds.

DJ Life is a relatively new name in the electronic music circuit, but you wouldn’t guess it listening to his newest track “Rock the beat!”. The Melbourne native teams up with Gnork, Louis // Louis, and #130E0A to release the “Earth Plates Vol 1.” EP coming out May 18th on Gnork’s blorp music affiliated imprint Earth Plates. The label has only been around for six months, and claims to dedicate its music to the “lovely green and blue plate called Earth”. It’s not difficult to see why as their catalog thus far is comprised of lush, textural techno, house, lo-fi, acid, breakbeats, and everything in between. Earth Plates’ releases are ethereal yet focused, transporting listeners to an almost meditative state.

“Earth Plates Vol 1.” is a collection of atmospheric house thumpers by up and comers (bar Gnork) of the genre. It’s likely Gnork’s sound was a source of inspiration for DJ Life, Louis // Louis, and #130E0A as their entries for this EP follow in his sonic footsteps. DJ Life’s “Rock the beat!” is an ear-pleasing voyage featuring layered rhythms, oscillating chords, the occasional acid stab, and a vocal sample so heavily filtered it’s incomprehensible. But it’s all about the mood on “Rock the beat!”, and it creates one so alluring like the other tracks on the EP you’ll find yourself wishing the track was at least double its length.

Just weeks after releasing his new studio album Flourish, Damian Lazarus returns with two cinematic remixes of the lauded Jem Cooke collaboration ‘Into The Sun’. Damian carefully chose two of modern electronic music’s most celebrated producers to reimagine the original, welcoming unique takes from Mano Le Tough and Nathan Fake.

Lazarus remains a curator fixated on showcasing new sounds and emerging talent in everything he does. Much like his tenure breaking artists and pushing boundaries through the influence of Crosstown Rebels, he has brought an innate sense of purpose to Flourish’s remix selection.

The package leads with the distinctly delicate touch of Mano Le Tough, an Irishman who’s quest for deeper dancefloors has made him one of scene’s most in demand artists. Mano’s Crosstown debut adds to an already decorated discography across labels like Pampa, Permanent Vacation and his own Maeve. Adorned with his signature pitch bending and uniquely layered percussion, his remix retains the hopefulness embodied by the original while priming it for the return of rave.

Nathan Fake brings a different set of tools to the package, wielding a sense of grit and atmosphere that can be heard throughout his Blizzards album released this year on his own Cambria Instruments. His remix retains the broken beat energy and haunting mood of ‘Into The Sun’ while remapping its melody for both beauty and cadence. It is this elevated understanding of texture and suspense that has earned mainstay status from Ninja Tune and Border Community, while attracting remixes for Radiohead, Jon Hopkins and Tiefschwarz to name a few.
