Quivers are back with new song "You're Not Always On My Mind", their first release since debut LP "We'll Go Riding On The Hearses", and are soon heading over to showcase at SXSW.

"You're Not Always On My Mind" (out everywhere Feb 20th) is their most direct release yet - Quivers' signature jangly guitars and shouted choruses tightened up into their first real pop song. It was recorded in The Aviary Recording Studio by Matt Redlich. The result has a "Reckoning” era R.E.M. vibe - snaking and shimmering guitars, and driving drums.

It's a bit like 10cc's "I'm Not In Love" - a song to prove how much you're not thinking about someone...

Quivers - You're Not Always On My Mind

Australia's Quivers have been on constant rotation on KEXP since the release of their 2019 single "You're Not Always On My Mind." Now in 2020 they've recorded a track-by-track interpretation of R.E.M.s 1991 Grammy Award winning album Out of Time, best known for this song, "Losing My Religion."

The band chose to honor R.E.M. for a number of reasons, most importantly because their music, 1992's "Automatic for the People" was incredibly meaningful for lead singer Sam Nicholson, who listened to it on repeat while battling cancer as a child. 

Sam spoke to KEXP's Owen Murphy for Sound and Vision.
