My performance of THE Fantasie-Impromptu has been removed because of an erroneous copyright claim. so I improvised this one to take it's place for a while, hoping that they'll reinstate my version of Chopin's masterpiece. 

Fantasy Impromptu

The music describes a starry, frozen night. The beauty of glittering light against the depths of absolute black. Set to music through vibraphone, oboe, and a mixed choir— a soundscape of stillness, shimmer, and awe.

This episode marks the final pause—before the chapters to come (22 and following) will resound with a bold and stirring new beginning.

I wanted to capture a piece of my life in New York, blending hip hop, Latin, brasshouse, salsa, and jazz, all wrapped in my signature fantasy orchestral style. This one was pure joy to make, maybe the most fun I’ve ever had writing music, and I hope that energy comes through when you listen.

A Fantasy in the Bronx

A musical improvisation whilst thinking of a house I once glimpsed some 40 or so years ago which possessed the essential elements of the cover artwork. I have never set foot in the house, or seen it since, but it returns to me often when I sit and play❤️ॐ

The Vipers Nest

Music that tells the tale of a river of people stretching out behind me, to another land and another life; a land scarred by cruelty and an existence no better than slavery back in the time of The Great Hunger.

The lady pictured on the cover artwork is my Great Grandmother Bridget Wynne, born just after the worst of the Great Hunger had passed, and who, like millions of others, left her home for a better life. I’m not all that sure she found it. Although her family somehow survived the worst, Bridget remained small -  somewhere around 4 feet 6 inches (1.37m) - and bird-like for her entire life.

She is the only one of my older Irish relatives of whom I have a photograph .

Alchemy at Bollingen Tower: An Architectural Ballet
A Fateful Compulsion 
Set: Ephemeral, not solid. Stage dark (night) with flashes of light. 
Dancers: Beings of Light, Young Builder, Fear & Lethargy 
Action: Many Beings of Light are illuminated moving quickly, coming and going in a flash. Like glimpses of understanding that come suddenly and then are lost. Fear & Lethargy block the light from the sleeping Young Builder. Overcoming Fear & Lethargy, Young Builder captures the Light-dancers, one by one, and puts them into order, into writing, into books of light – wisdom books. Books close – darkness.
