R.EK is back with a new EP, set to release on the renowned EINMUSIKA RECORDINGS label on March 10th, 2023.

Known for his captivating techno music, characterized by warm melodies and distinctive beats, R.EK continues this tradition with this EP.
"The Balance" is a breathtaking track, given an extra touch of special by the vocals of NATASCHA POLKÉ.
The remix by the Italian duo THOMAS SCHWARTZ & FAUSTO FANIZZA adds another dimension to the release, rounding out the tracklist.

R.EK, NATASCHA POLKÉ and the italien duo are thrilled about the new EP and looking forward to presenting it to the listeners. "I'm very proud of this EP. It was great working with NATASCHA POLKÉ and I'm happy for the remix by Thomas Schwartz and Fausto Fanizza. I hope people will love this EP as much as we do."

Benjamin Fröhlich's 2016 ep "Rude Movements" gets the remix treatment by some of his favourite artists : Permanent Vacation long time collaborator and partner in crime Lauer  tugs "Amos" in with a very cosy Frankfurt Trance blanket, while Running Back regular Shan pulls out the curls of "Holloway" thanks to his magic styling iron. The result : a pumping and string heavy affair.
On the flipside Brussels's Wunderkind Cleveland, who'll appear soon in our podcast series, delivers an energizing and mesmerizing breakbeat version of "Ghost Orchid" for the magic moments in life. While our friends Jack Pattern come correct with a cosmic disco reinterpretation of "Spitting Image" !

German duo Obscure Shape & SHDW drop three robust Techno tracks in their first full release on Rekids this May.

One of the most exciting acts in Techno today, Obscure Shape & SHDW are the founders of From Another Mind - the label and party series making waves in South-Germany. Aside from Rekids, where they remixed Radio Slave’s ‘Vision’ last year, the pair’s abilities in the studio have seen them invited by Slam for two separate remixes of Monoloc and Envoy on Soma, with more projects to be announced.

‘Himmel Und Erde’ is a cavernous cut boasting colossal kicks and skipping percussion before a tantalising melody comes into play. ‘Am Ende Der Welt’ is more deep and atmospheric in comparison, blending dusky percussion with echoing synths until ‘Gefallene Engel’ demonstrates syncopated drums and an otherworldly hook that conjure up a mesmerising aesthetic to conclude the release.

"Vor nicht allzu langer Zeit begegnete Baba vor seinem Haus einem alten, heruntergekommenen, obdachlosen Yamaha DX-7. Alte Synthesizer aus den 80ern sind Baba sehr sympathisch, weshalb er den ziemlich verwirrten und zerkratzten Digitalpionier auf einen kleinen Jam ins seine Wohnung einlud. Seine Hoffnung, inspirierenden Klängen und aufregenden Geschichten zu lauschen, wurde nicht enttäuscht, obwohl der alte Herr auf Grund einer niemals gewechselten Batterie unter starkem Gedächtnisverlust zu leiden hatte. Einige inspirierende Fetzen dieses mehrstündigen Monologs über Italo Disco, Acid House und viele verpasste Gelegenheiten konnte Baba unbemerkt aufzeichnen und in diese kleine akustische Perle verwandeln - ein hektischer Versuch, all das Versäumte aufzuholen.“

Madloch's Sound Avenue imprint continues its 2018 journey by welcoming George X to the label for his debut single. The Greek artist has a meticulous discography highlighted by appearances on Dream Culture, Get Weird and Magician On Duty where his unique take on deep house has found favor with John Digweed, Hernan Cattaneo, and Nick Warren. Now stepping up for his first appearance on Sound Avenue George presents his latest single 'Nahuati' alongside remixes from Cosmic Cowboys and PHCK.

The release concludes with PHCK. Founded by Paul Hoffer and Chris Kusterer, PHCK operated as a duo until 2017 before eventually adding the musical talents of Stefan Kling into the group. Osiris begins in a majestic way with a great synthesizer giving entrance to the kick drum with a great blow, a hypnotic arpeggio in the background and percussions are including to the theme without forgetting the main lead that enhances its authority in the break turning to a mysterious and energetic track.

Depth of Field, is a quieter theme but with the same intensity, where the melodies of the background are more pure and melancholy, small riffs are incorporated creating a sublime sound set transmitting the perspective of the void and the absoluteness at the same time, simply music with soul.

Dyspo, is the last track but the most explosive, the arpeggio sequence arises from the beginning and with the percussive elements conceive a hypnotic and contagious groove, then a small riff that emerges from the darkness become essential at every step of the theme and in conjunction with the powerful bassline give a sense that all sounds create a monster that is destroying the universe with each hit of the drum, a track that will be equally essential and dispensable to destroy the dance floor.

The first notes of “Feys”, R.EK’s latest work and first single release in 2020, leave a volatile impression. The sound’s grace evokes the moment when you see a stranger’s face for the first time, when you inspect its details; cheek dimples, wrinkles on the forehead, a mysterious shade around the eyes.
With every passing second one discovers new details, striking passages taking turns with vulnerable sounds, and with every additional piece of the puzzle you’ll get closer to the core of this work. “Feys” heralds a new era for R.EK and introduces a new chapter for his label KnotenMusic—by uniting melodic techno with cinematic dramatics. In collaboration with Hannes Bieger, whose mixing adds a warm touch to the sound, R.EK is again pushing boundaries, and explores new grounds, where subtle, harmonious synthies and an enormous love for detail are paired to enable a new, distinct sound.

About KNOTEN
Under the umbrella of KNOTEN, R.EK is currently developing a new live performance concept that attempts to reinvent the communication between the artist and the audience by adding innovative visuals to the show.
