R.EK is back with a new EP, set to release on the renowned EINMUSIKA RECORDINGS label on March 10th, 2023.

Known for his captivating techno music, characterized by warm melodies and distinctive beats, R.EK continues this tradition with this EP.
"The Balance" is a breathtaking track, given an extra touch of special by the vocals of NATASCHA POLKÉ.
The remix by the Italian duo THOMAS SCHWARTZ & FAUSTO FANIZZA adds another dimension to the release, rounding out the tracklist.

Presenting their second release of the year, Astral Records welcomes Vincenzo Sarti and Alessio Pennati to the label for their debut EP. Based in Italy, Vincenzo and Alessio have enjoyed success in their respective solo careers. The duo's combined discography is highlighted by releases via Awen Records, Three Hands Records, Uxoa Dutxa Elite and Wout Records. With a penchant for contemporary techno and astral sonics, Vincenzo and Alessio now make their Astral Records debut, presenting their first collaborative project entitled 'People From Another World'.

Beginning with the title selection, Vincenzo and Alessio craft a deep and cosmic progressive techno hybrid. Anchored by a punchy groove, shapeshifting atmospheres and sizzling rhythms, it's mysterious yet inviting from the outset. Evolving with a veteran's flair, astral effects and striking sonics create a compelling narrative leading into the main break. Scintillating arps and ominous overlays highlight the centrepiece, adding a prophetic vibe, while tastefully tense modulation and a wave of drums initiate a cavernous drop and rumbling finale.

La Revolución was composed by Manu Ela, a multi-faceted Chilean artist based now in Berlin. Handling the brush as an illustrator as well as the needle as a tattooist, she also sings armed with her ukulele and her pan flute.

This title refers to the own revolution that everyone must do inside himself to reach different steps in life with the goal of finding its own freedom. The singers Macarena Paz and Iralí are joining Manu in this quest with their incantations.

A new remix complete this first release in Spring 2022 with a new interpretation of Judith Ahrends (Germany) created specially for a new video clip out in February 2023.

Finnish DJ and producer Otto Yliperttula (aka Yotto) caught our imaginations alight with his stellar debut album ‘Hyperfall’ last September, charting as a No. 1 Dance/Electronic album on Billboard and earning support from Annie Mac, Pete Tong, Danny Howard, Eric Prydz, and many other heavyweights in the dance world. The next chapter sees an acclaimed host of producers add their own sound to the ‘Hyperfall’ story.

‘Hear Me Out’ receives separate remixes from Mobilee Records head Anja Schneider and Berlin producer Kevin de Vries to open proceedings. Schneider incorporates the sublime vocals of Laudic to full effect over a driving bass groove, whilst De Vries’s adapts the original’s bright melodies to his characteristic techno style.

German artists Monkey Safari and Ruede Hagelstein build on Yotto’s original brooding arrangement for ‘Turn It Around’ in contrasting fashions; Monkey Safari adding a trademark sunshine sheen of bubbly arpeggios, while Ruede Hagelstein’s ‘Rise Again’ remix places mechanised vocoders atop a menacing bassline.

‘Kantsu’ receives a minimal reinterpretation from Parisian electro artist Chloé, while SØNIN captures the understated euphoria of ‘The One You Left Behind’ through an inventive club re-work.

The first notes of “Feys”, R.EK’s latest work and first single release in 2020, leave a volatile impression. The sound’s grace evokes the moment when you see a stranger’s face for the first time, when you inspect its details; cheek dimples, wrinkles on the forehead, a mysterious shade around the eyes.
With every passing second one discovers new details, striking passages taking turns with vulnerable sounds, and with every additional piece of the puzzle you’ll get closer to the core of this work. “Feys” heralds a new era for R.EK and introduces a new chapter for his label KnotenMusic—by uniting melodic techno with cinematic dramatics. In collaboration with Hannes Bieger, whose mixing adds a warm touch to the sound, R.EK is again pushing boundaries, and explores new grounds, where subtle, harmonious synthies and an enormous love for detail are paired to enable a new, distinct sound.

About KNOTEN
Under the umbrella of KNOTEN, R.EK is currently developing a new live performance concept that attempts to reinvent the communication between the artist and the audience by adding innovative visuals to the show. The new track will be released under KnotenMusic, which was launched as part of the KNOTEN project.

Years and years of bringing his live sets to perfection were finally rewarded when R.EK was called to be one of the resident DJs of the prestigious Hive Club in Zurich, Switzerland. What sets him apart are his memorable live sets, where he’s able to pick up the audience’s mood, and to channel it into his music. The result thereof is the skillful bundling of the crowd’s energy—that is also projected onto his studio recorded tracks.
