Pilgrimage

Conquering and ruling cultures often oppress those they dominate. The oppressed, and those with less power, will always eventually seek justice, representation, and equal power from their subjugators. Those whose culture have been vilified, repressed, and appropriated can regain their power and love by learning about their past, choosing and identifying their cultural heroes for themselves, and restoring their appreciation and celebrations for their ancestors.  

May this song encourage an honest look into your past, acknowledging both the shadow and the light, appreciating the beauty of what was and is, and learning from accomplishments and mistakes to continue our evolution in becoming better co-creators with the planet.

I used some of a bass stem Alpha Roots sent me to make Red Earth Clay and I used the rest of the stem to make Sow Your Seeds. I have one unused bass and drum stem from Alpha Roots that I will make an old school hip hop song with and I may remix his original Hosanna bass stem one day to make a new reggae song. I may also ask Russ if I can make a version of Da Weed using Alpha Roots’ stems one day. After that, I may be complete unless I get gifted some Alpha Roots stems to play with. 

Huge thanks to Chiefo who set the original tone of this song which gave me inspiration for  the lyrics. Big ups to Fady, bit zone, and Lady of Fire Poetry for joining in on this project and adding their collective vibe. Massive thanks to Wou-Wou & the Wormling for keeping the track on skank with his rhythm guitar and for providing us with his incredible art work - commission him for some work y’all!!! Thanks to one of my valued SC friends @naturesautonomus , i encouraged myself and took all what it takes and signed the online producing course with Andrew Huang on this learnmonthly.com site.

Very tight deadlines to meet and alot of new stuff to learn. I really recommend it! Its exhausting but sooo worth it.

This is the first out of three tracks which i have to produce while doing this course. I hope you enjoy it as much as i "enjoyed" going for a very crazy alien invasion listening experience.

You can think of it in many different ways, but the main idea behind that, which kinda evolved during this brand new production and arranging and mixing and mastering process, is, that the aliens kinda funk their way from one capital to the next and just erase us. 

The peak in the song where the crazy additional synth joins the fun - you kinda want to imagine all those little nasty aliens up in the ship celebrating their desctructive hovering "march" to erase all humankind. Ain't that fun?! Haha!

Hear Me Out

Andrew Huangs learnmonthly Song #2. This thing pushed me to a place where i never thought i might end up. Recording dozens of samples, slicing, eqing, manipulating stuff in various directions, going full crazy with delay reverb, building out of the scratch a synth patch for base and chords and tweaked up to a point where the stereo field does not longer exist , where there were just sonic waves everywhere in my head......

I really hope you enjoy this piece more than the moments where i felt so dead and exhausted and empty inside.

As this being some kind of private work - i called it homework, as i took this baby from home, where i recorded the samples, on my fiances laptop in to my holidays. built like crazy while we were on vacation...... but again... i learned so much like mastering my daw more and more and tons of other stuff. im still thankful that i push myself so hard this month. for me, for you, just for the love of and for music <3

This track is a result of me navigating my way through the feel I want the album to have. Kind of a hybrid/indie/acoustic feel with a lot of strings, guitar and more acoustic sounding percussion along with the electronics. How Apparat/Sasha Ring has evolved through the years is admittedly a big influence. I realize not every track needs to be a multi-sectional adventure (although most tracks will!), but this is hopefully a nice short length worth repeated listens.
