"Making music with Rodolfo is always exciting and often a challenge, although I know we both find it stimulating, as we always aim to reach high and this post is no exception. This new song, started its gestation almost a year ago, instantly showed a lot of promise and since has been through many stages of exploration and rounds of problem-solving. The painfully blunt lyrics were initially inspired by a friend's brutal relationship break-up, but the final result is much heavier. I hope you find it moving rather than disturbing, I was trying to match the mood of Rod's deeply dramatic music."

"I think it's a fantastic song and you've done an amazing job on both the story and the vocals, especially those tough lines. When I was writing it, I just felt like a modern blues with a techno vibe was taking shape. The final sound was defined by the story and those really dramatic, emotional lyrics. I needed some calming down after a stressful day. I just sat today and recorded this in 2 hours. While playing, I remembered Barry, the little hero of "Close Encounters of the Third Kind", playing the glockenspiel... I invite You and Your inner child on a journey between the stars.

Humanity as a child of the Universe. First, it discover the "music" of the Universe within itself, it try to "play" it as best as it can, not being aware of the existence of the universe. Then it begins to "hear", notice the music of the Cosmos, get to know it. It is doing it better and better, but still, like a child, it "plays" clumsily, sometimes too loudly, sometimes harmoniously. Will it harmonize with it or will it disappear?

I hope you like this track at least a little bit. I made it thanks to four, free,  wonderful Fracture Sounds @fracture-sounds instruments from the Blueprint series: Gentle Brass, Gentle Strings, Textural Violin and main hero - Greenhead Chimes.

When https://soundcloud.com/dneye asked me for a track to play his fantastic guitars on, I brainstormed this 5/4 piece with odd chord set in order to make it difficult to him and thus get the best from his skills. After programming it, I added some organic solos (yep I played keys) to make it seem more friendly ;))))

And he... succeeded in the challenge, overcoming all my expectations !!!

Composer Volodymyr Ivasiuk's (1949-1979) 1st mega-hit was "Chervona Ruta".  It's been covered by a multitude of bands, but here is the original with Ivasiuk singing with the band Smerichka fronted by Zinkevych and Yaremchuk.  [Photo(rt-lt) - Zinkevych, Yaremchuk, Ivasiuk].  Due to his immense popularity and that fact that he exclusively wrote popular Ukrainian songs and refused to write any Russian songs, the KGB tortured and beat him to death on May 18, 1979, and left him hanging in a forest outside of Lviv, which was the hotbed of Ukrainian nationalism during the Cold War.
