originally recorded as a solo piano boogie, now with a whack of instruments added to sound like a country rock & blues band. With different instruments taking turns at solos, this one’s a pretty fun romp. 

instruments include piano, bass, rhythm guitar, electric guitar, harmonica, slide dobro, organ, drums (all instruments are electronic samples, except me playing piano live, and some bits on drums, organ, and harmonica)

Buccmaster and his friends visit a village untouched by the Norman invasion. They participate in a village celebration, which Buccmaster looks back on as the very last joyful day. Even so, everyone there fears for the future.

I used my Flamenco guitar again... but economically, my early versions were too Iberian!

This remaster was a fun experiment. I did it to a single .mp3 file (because I didn't have a .wav-file of this track for some reason anymore, nor do I have the project file anymore). First I actually made a simple remaster purely myself using 6 plug-ins and volume controls. There was some Soundgoodizer, MStereoExpander, EQing, Frequency Splitter, MReverb and a compressor. After that I used the FL mastering service which apparently is an AI master. After that I used the Soundcloud Dolby master using the Thunder-setting and adjusted the power to 80%. This is the final result.

I made this remaster during the night I observed large and powerful, colorful northern lights here in Finland. I think it fits the art of the skies.

Story to accompany this tune:

In the twilight of a world forgotten, where the veil between realms was thin as gossamer, there stood an ancient grove. It was whispered that within its heart lay a stone circle. It represented the remnants of a time when the earth spoke and the stars sang. The circle, it was said, was the domain of a spirit, a guardian whose presence was as old as the land itself.

This spirit watched over the grove with a silent vigil. It was the keeper of secrets, the protector of the sacred dance of life and death. The trees themselves seemed to bow in reverence to this unseen force, their branches swaying in a rhythm.

As centuries passed, the legend of the grove and its guardian grew into myth. Seekers of forgotten lores would venture near, hoping for a glimpse or a sign, but the spirit remained shrouded in the mists of time. It was said that only when the stars aligned in a pattern unseen since the dawn of creation would the spirit reveal itself, and the ancient grove would awaken to fulfill a destiny written in the very fabric of the universe.

Unohtuneen maailman varjoissa, missä todellisuuden rajat olivat harsomaisen häilyvät, sijaitsi muinainen lehto. Oli hiljaa kerrottu, että sen sydämessä oli kivirinki. Se edusti aikaa, jolloin maa puhui ja tähdet lauloivat. Sanottiin, että rinki oli erään hengen elinkehto - vartijan, jonka olevaisuus oli yhtä vanha kuin itse maa.

Tämä henki vartioi lehtoa hiljaisella katseellaan. Se oli salaisuuksien haltija, elämän ja kuoleman pyhän tanssin suojelija. Puut itsessään näyttivät kumartavan kunnioituksesta tätä näkymätöntä voimaa kohtaan, oksat huojuen rytmissä.

Sanottiin, että vain kun tähdet asettuivat kuvioon, jota ei ollut nähty luomisen koitosta lähtien, paljastaisi henki itsensä, ja muinainen lehto heräisi täyttämään kohtalonsa, joka oli kirjoitettu maailmankaikkeuden kudelmiin.
