In our lives, we are granted the opportunity to witness the departure of our loved ones. Some depart through doors, never to return, yet still exist somewhere. Others leave suddenly, unexpectedly. Yet some depart when we are somewhat prepared, for their age predisposes them to it. However, there are also departures more challenging... when we observe the tree of the mind of a beloved, from which memories' leaves fall, and even the freshest, youngest cannot hold on to it. We cannot help, we can only watch how they fall...

Composing this little piece was very personal. It was combined with the realization of a fact from my immediate surroundings. I left all imperfections of my playing because of how I felt at that moment. It wasn't an improvisation, it was an interpretation of a theme that I've developed few minutes earlier.
