Recording of my set from Tranceverse: Portal to Sonic Wonders by Pineapple Xpress from 2:00am to 3:30am. It was an amazing experience to play at the first psy-night in Preston and enjoyed playing this freestyle twilight to darkpsy set (150-165bpm) before Djane Anastazja's spiritual hitech blast . Many thanks Pineapple Xpress crew for the opportunity and look forward to more in the future.

This Psybabas episode features LYRICA, the artist also known as Holy Manullu's second Dark Psychedelic project, who is presenting some tracks from his upcoming Lyrica EP in this episode. About Lyrica, the artist-producer says: "There's something in the world outside. Something mystical, something not explainable, something... no one’s really sure about. No one knows where we should assign it. It feels gloomy… uneasy… and sometimes even menacingly. Where does this feeling come from? Where should we assign it? Is it even assignable? No one knows. But we feel. And we’re certain that it belongs out here. It has his place out here in this world…. in this universe. And as soon as one has made peace with the uncertainty, there comes this feeling of safety. The uneasiness disappears and everything that counts is that present moment itself."

Kevin started listening to Psytrance in 2011 and soon got addicted to the rather shady parts of this genre.
A few years later he began mixing 
his favorite tracks and artists on his own.
Thanks to good connection to local party hosts and a wide network of friends and fellows in the psytrance scene, Kevin - now known as Mezcal - was soon given the opportunity to play his first gigs in the NRW region. Over the years, he has made a name for himself in the local psytrance scene, where he is known for his forest-influenced arrangements.
Mezcal‘s aspiration is to take the listener into deeper conditions of consciousness through hypnotic but serious sounds from the realms of Forest and Darkpsy.

After years of studying drums, it was in 2015 that Matteo was seduced by the world of electronic music. He first discovered technoïd frequencies while taking part in warehouse parties, then tried his hand at producing hard industrial music.

Continuing to explore the vast spectrum of computer-based music, he soon became fascinated by psytrance and its culture. While learning DJing and compositional methods, his identity began to take shape around the twisted dimensions of psychedelia.

Co-founder of Dripping Tales Records and member of Atomes Music, Mysmatic offers us a powerful forest to darkpsy experience where light and shadow merge into a unique immersive tale.

Patronus Records proudly presents: Whispering Fauna Volume Two. Once again we joined forces to seek out and select sounds for a new generation of psychedelic trance.

Here we go. The fauna is whispering again. In fact, she never stopped. Returning from their long journeys into uncharted territories, our travellers captured the weirdest and strangest creatures from the undergrowth. They listened for the essence of their voices, had to go through a lengthy process of examination of their behavior, telegraphing their language and deciphering their encrypted communication to unveil their lost knowledge. They speak of many secrets, some are of the forest, some of the smell of night, some of glittering snowy plains, some of ancient arcane knowledge and some twisting the very fabric of our understanding of the world. Once you taste these sounds, they will haunt you. Once you're in, it's too late to escape the grasp of this mysterious sonic language. Listen and you will know what is meant by this.

Mental Balance

R3JAL discovered psytrance in 2016, but it wasn't until 2019 that he attended his first party in the UK, fell in love with the scene, and began attending several gatherings.

By January 2020, he had acquired CDJs and began developing his abilities behind the decks, spreading his selection of music that take one on a journey through groovy woodlands. He joined UK psytrance label Enterrec six months later and is working on his first compilation. After a year of playing around UK, he got the opportunity to join Visionary Shamanics records and currently blasts their discography of forest, dark-prog and darkpsy.

Forest psytrance is mostly played ranging from 150 to 156 bpm, with twisted, atmospheric bending, groovy basslines, and each with its own tale. When not in the forest, he plays darkprog and darkpsy with the intention of creating his own style in the future.
