Blank Wave is back with a very special guest for our 15th guest mix: Lauer! Get ready for two hours of synth loaded jams, live recorded on our Blank Wave club night at Silbergold May 27th this year along Shia LaBiff. 

Philipp Lauer has had his fingers in quite a few pies over the last 2 decades or so, following the release of his debut 12” in 2000. As CEO of the infamous Pyramide II studio his remix count goes way beyond 200 (still ceaselessly rising), including work for Sven Väth, Pet Shop Boys, M83, S-Express, Falco or Tears For Fears to name just a few. Besides releasing solo productions as Lauer on labels such as Running Back, Permanent Vacation, Beats In Space, LARJ, Future Boogie. It is also due to his diligent work as a teamplayer that makes him appear as one of the hardest working people in the business: Tuff City Kids (with Gerd Janson), Black Spuma (with Fabrizio Mammarella) and TNP (with Tim Sweeney) are amongst those projects Lauer is involved in. Although Philipp’s Discogs page already has the size of a phone book and his tour schedule reads like Odyssey, he’s only just warming up for whatever is gonna happen.

In addition to what is already one of the strongest and most eclectic Ibiza line-ups of the season, this year will see new creative elements added to the event, overseen by Glitterbox Creative Director, Mark Herman. TradeMark, aka UK artist, Mark Wardel, has designed the stunning new Glitterbox artwork, while masterminding the performance side, club collective Savage will consist of three different dance crews (Sink The Pink, Hot Heels & Nutbags) who will all bring their own unique energy to the night.

US artist Danny Daze, out of Miami, has long been affiliated with the more electronic side of dance music. From the early days in the electro scene and more abstract forms of techno, the Omnidisc boss has covered a lot of musical ground since then. Helping to reimagine the underground landscape, Danny was pivotal in the early 2010s club sound with releases on Hot Creations, Ellum Audio, and Kompakt. He soon turned his attention back to the obscure side of the dancefloor and IDM. As much a music lover and dancer as he is an artist, he knows exactly what works on the dancefloor and his recent album “::BLUE::” on his own Omnidisc imprint exemplifies this ethos. Our next mix comes from some very good pals of ours, @inner_zone. As well as running one of our all time favourite labels @spacelabrecords, Nic and Rupes are responsible for some of the best parties London has seen in recent years. Having founded the legendary Make Me event series, they now run Transmissions at Fold as well as its yearly festival edition Transmissions From Hackney. They've also released some great EPs on labels such as Feelings Worldwide and their own Space Lab imprint.

This mix exemplifies their versatility; a live recording from their warm up for Sunju Hargun at one of their Fold parties last year. Taken from the opening hours of the party and progressing from deeper to more rolling sounds while building tension, this set captures the perfect early-night balance between patience and momentum. It's a perfect snapshot of what makes them such great DJs - deep selections, great pacing and total synergy between the two of them. Thanks boys!
