This track is the result of sudden inspirations and lucky finds...

I started out to build a muscical loop, adding many different instruments to have many options to change that. Then I felt this needed vocals - and I somehow remembered that I have used a poetry reading for my track https://soundcloud.com/rabmusiclab/la-salle-dattente-mythique.

So I decided to use another recording of Lárus Guðmundsson reciting a poem which this wonderful artist has kindly made available on freesound: https://freesound.org/people/Pax11/sounds/464446/

This is the reading of the poem Skýldu mér (Protect me) by Stefán frá Hvítadal (Stephan from Whitewalley), who was born in 1887 and died in 1933. The poem is taken from the book Óður Einyrkjans published in 1921.

The used recording  is under the Creative Commons Attribution 3.0 Unported license creativecommons.org/licenses/by/3.0/.
I left the recording totally unchanged and only applied some noise-reduction.

I owe my thanks to Lárus Guðmundsson whose poetry reading added a totally magnificient dimension to this track. This artist also creates great music which he publishes as Lalli Fraendi (to be discovered also on SoundCloud @lalli-fraendi).

'Ante Mare Undae' is the motto of the House of Rochechouart (Latin contraction of 'Avant que la mer fût au monde, Rochechouart portait les ondes' / 'Before the sea was in the world, Rochechouart carried the waves').

Madame de Montespan, the Sun King's great love and mistress, belonged to this very old French family. They regularly met up at the former ‘Porcelain Trianon’ located in the royal estate of Versailles, a place renowned for its marvellous gardens.
