Alex was on opening duties when Hot Mass hosted Wata Igarashi this past July and presented here is ~2 hours of his 3.5 hour opening set of deep, cosmic techno.

SXCL is a Créole Réunionese producer, DJ, and musician living in Berlin. Their work spans from solo works to collaborations with visual artists & art spaces as they pursue an audio engineering degree. Their versatile musiking takes inspiration from the different cities they lived, such as Paris, Leipzig and Berlin and from their Creole identity and heritage.  Switching from vinyl to digital and vice versa, SXCL mixes their moods and emotions into each of their sets.  Enjoy!

On January 22nd, 2023 the world celebrated the Lunar New Year, and the gate was opened to welcome the astrological proclivities and inclinations of the Yin Water Rabbit. Now, on February 1st, patiently and excitedly awaiting for the arrival of the Rabbit, which is to occur on February 4th, we celebrate the new year and the arrival of a very special contribution to our fledgling series, provided by the inspirational selector, and friend of many years, Cay Horiuchi.

In Cay's words: 

"This mix features some of the tracks I played for a cute underground NYE party organized by my friends in the unceded lands of the Chinook and Multnomah tribes. previously available only on the club’s patreon, this is now public for everyone to enjoy. created for Virtually Nowadays at the beginning of the shutdown in April 2020 the movie was created by Jay Ivan as we drove through the empty streets of the NYC area, he filmed with a handheld DSLR and then aligned the audio after editing. 
programming this mix was emotional..i did my best to hopefully help people process positively while enjoying a "dance music mix" during a time of overwhelming uncertainty.
