Jacob is part of the organising team behind Whole Festival and Buttons - events that inspire us with their purpose, care, and attention to detail. This was maybe my fourth time ever playing techno, and it felt incredible to be given the trust to close the main room at Zero Chill, NYC's hottest rave. After nearly 20 years of DJing—mostly known for house, sometimes ambient—it was a thrill to stretch into a harder, faster prime-time slot for a massive, raging warehouse crowd. Pride 2025 called for a disco-flavored last hour to honor our origins and ancestors.

I’ve never had so many people DM me after a set, and it’s got me inspired to keep exploring this direction in the techno landscape.

Special thanks to my dears Dirty Daddy Don and Physical Therapy for lacing me with some tracks for the night. It takes a village.

Bristol based DJ, club promoter and producer, 
Chez de Milo, readies his debut release, and Futureboogie’s first release of 2021, with the ‘Bushwa’ EP.  Smagghe & Cross (AKA Ivan Smagghe and Rupert Cross) join the party with an epic Version of the title track.

On ‘Bushwa’, warming CR-78 drums initiate a bubbling blend of groaning pads, melodic keys and gated vocals as Chez de Milo crafts a solemn yet addictive 5am moment.  Smagghe & Cross stretch things out over ten minutes with their tantalising Version of ‘Bushwa’ that quite literally features a commercial break midway before motoring back up to chugging speed.  Cosmically charged this most definitely is!

Elsewhere on this prolific debut release, ‘Mantella’ features a smorgasbord of spacey riffs, splashy drums and idiosyncratic vocals, whilst ‘Golden Ratio’ wraps things up with an esoteric piece of bleepy, ambient house that is designed to feed your mind as much as for your feet.

The tastes of this canary based in Madrid range from sunnier Funk and Disco rhythms, as in his last set for the boys of the Canarian group https://soundcloud.com/discolatesince2019 to Downtempo and Electro with strong and much darker bases. This mix is a sample of his second facet, with a careful selection and variety of spatial sounds, but above all very danceable. That's what Dj Homie invites us to do, that we don't stop dancing.
