I’m a Cliché’s first release of 2016 comes from label boss Cosmo Vitelli. After a five-year hiatus during which he was kept busy by his band Bot’Ox and relocating from Paris to Berlin, this is the very first release to come out of his new studio located in Berlin’s Marzahn district.

A CRUEL STORY
This emotional uptempo track driven by heartfelt synth work explores the territory of dancefloor melancholia. Influences from genres that end in « -wave » but also from the spirit of sentimental electro are obvious and they are creatively used by Cosmo Vitelli for particularly catchy and elegant dance-inducing results.

CHIENS DE L’ENFER
There’s something ominous in this track with a definite rock feeling which is structured around brooding percussion, hypnotic melodies, sinister synths and an entrancing bass line. Darkness prevails and this is the perfect track to take the dancefloor on a date with the hounds of hell.

KETAMINE KARAOKE
Cosmo Vitelli further explores and reinterprets the melancholic and melodic potential of older genres on this catchy tune that sounds like a lost recording from a forgotten yet influential band that used a bass guitar, gently modulating analog synths and vintage drum machines with a taste for dissociatives on the original sound track of a '70s French film.

One of our favorite producers in Paris delivers a remix which enhances the hypnotic elements of the original track which he turns into tune tense, dark but quite debonair where low end groove is complemented by tribal percussion. Clearlly, this is a track waiting to be unleashed on the dancefloor.

Fx Mchn is an up and coming producer from London whose tracks are often played by Cosmo Vitelli. This remix focuses on the funkier side of Cruel Story. Instantly danceable, elegantly layered and with added melodic touches, this track conjures element of the Detroit sound and will work wonders on even the most demanding of dancefloors.

Next on NSAs mix series are Markus Schneider and Stefan Maurer aka „The Robot Scientists“, Saarbrücken/Germany-based DJs, vinyl collectors and fellow lovers of outer space, already known to many music connoisseurs for their numerous „all killer no filler“ DJ mixes, their edits of lost 1980s underground Synthpop and New Wave gems, as co-founders of the innovative „Emerald & Doreen Records“ label or as avid curators of the highly recommended „Something Spæcial“ (spaced out & special = spæcial) guest mix series. 

Their trippy and emotional, energetic and uplifting trademark sound oscillates magically between darkness and the light, between melancholy and euphoria, between the here and now and the next world, between dark disco, cosmic balearica and psychedelic house. 

Markus Schneider tells their story: „We are Saarlanders, not the typical Germans. We never were Techno kids. We loved the electronic underground sound from the beginning and listened to all Italo Disco, Synthpop, New Beat, Electro Funk and New Wave vinyl records we could get as teenagers. We fell in love with the sound of analogue synthesizers, the futurism, the fun, the melodies, the romanticism, the simplicity and the freedom of expression in them. No kidding, until today, there is nothing more beautiful for us than Italo Disco basslines - they simply make us happy! So no wonder we are probably the originators of the phrase, „An Italo bassline never fails“! Fisherspooner‘s „Emerge“ was an alert sign, and when Lindström‘s „I Feel Space“ came out, we knew it was time to start our DJ mission to bring the world the best electronic music influenced by Kraftwerk and Depeche Mode we know about. NSA Guest Mix Vol. 32 - The Robot Scientists

The 41st edition of our mix series comes from Nadia Anderson and Rosie Cain, a.k.a. Dimensions Festival DJ Directory affiliated and Balamii Radio regulars Kiara Scuro. The duo have been popping up all over the place of late with appearances at Dimensions, Gottwood and most recently as part of Red Bull's 'Get Down Early' series which saw Legowelt warm up for them at Corsica Studios. We're expecting huge things from the talented pair in 2019 and we're thrilled to have them contributing to our mix series with this absolute cracker. Slightly lighter in mood than their usual offerings and including an incredible selection of chuggy tracks from the likes of Roza Terenzi, Zombies in Miami and Balam, it's very much appropriate for either day time or night time listening.

Mittlerer bis unterer Tempobereich, ein Anflug von Euphorie in der Luft, der Arpeggiator rauscht die Tonleitern rauf und runter.  Am 22.12. spielt Benjamin neben weiteren Members der Perm Vac Familie im Institut.
