Combining 60s psychedelia, alternative folk, art rock, baroque pop and gothic post-punk, The Mad Pride has been described as haunting & ominous like a Tim Burton film soundtrack made by Syd Barrett & David Bowie. Reviewers have made comparisons to Radiohead, Midlake, Meat Puppets, David Sylvian, Erik Satie, Frank Zappa, Nick Cave & even Leonard Cohen. 

The Mad Pride is a reference to the movement “MAD PRIDE” which aims to increase awareness about neurodiversity, the mental healthcare system, psychiatric survivors and the rampant epidemic of ableist abuse targeting vulnerable people.

It began as a fun idea to make demo recordings of my original songs in case I forgot them. Slowly it transformed into a solo home recording project that allowed me to explore a mysterious and exciting place. An almost physical place that is beyond “sound” and “music”. Beyond the superficial vibrations forming the medium and through the emotional catharsis that makes up the message we find ourselves arriving at the only logical conclusion. That only one path leads away from a devastating nightmarish future. It doesn’t lead to riches and it doesn’t lead to Rome. It leads to a revolution of love.

I don’t know the landmarks (or genres as you call them) but I’m certain we can build something wonderful there. I lack the music theory that empowers and homogenises so many others but it’s alright because I’ve made my own. It doesn’t have words, just feelings. A sprawling landscape of emotions that I can scarcely even describe – except through song, My real name is Rowan Galagher but feel free to call me Rosie.

I’m currently finishing my 5th album, an endeavour which was delayed for over a decade while the rental crisis vanquished the physical spaces I would have used to write and record. Despite the greed-fuelled delay, I’m finally back in my happy place. A happy place built out of excessive trauma and hopes for positive cultural change. It’s like a messed up “Koom by yah” accompanied by a wood-chipper and a sad clown with a kazoo.

NEW SOUND 13 is the crew, and music is their game. NEW SOUND 13 is a group of young and talented artist and producers from NYC, and when I say young I mean from 15 years-old rapper Rewind to 18 years-old rapper Baze. NEW SOUND 13 provides a complete mixture of original tracks from Underground to Commercial, from Dance to Hip Hop, from R&amp;B to Tropical, all this with a twist from producers’ iSick.

YAVES RECORDS’ BLUE FAN STUDIO is where everything happens; the man behind the controls is Isaac Lopez whom goes by the name of iSick. “Our goal is to take over the music industry, In order to succeed in the quest we had to build the perfect team and I know we have it”. An essential part of the NEW SOUND 13 success is the talented beat producer LeoStar aka Manny Debord. LeoStar. He has made over 50 beats for Yaves Records. “I do five to eight beats a night perfecting my game,” said the talented beat maker adding “The same music is being made in this industry, It’s time for a change, time to be creative again!”

THE NEW YORK DREAM

NINETEEN-YEAR-OLD NEW SOUND 13 rapper Sire has been listening to hip-hop since he was a young kid. He started rapping two years ago. Now, the Washington Heights-bred rapper is ready to change the game. Sire has recorded more than 20 tracks with Yaves Records in the last year and a half, also has the album FOUL PLAY under his belt. From there, Sire believes the sky is the limit. 

KINGS’ YOUNG BLOOD

NEW SOUND 13 YOUNGEST RAPPER is sixteen-year-old and goes by the name of Rewind. The talented kid was born with headphones in his ears. Rewind whose birth name is Rafael Lopez only dreamed of this life, but sees it coming to him at a fast pace. His upcoming album TRAPPED IN REWINDS WORLD should open many doors in this challenging industry.



The Sixteenth is the recorded music name of producer, composer, DJ and instrumentalist Richard Walley.  After releasing 2020's debut EP to strong reviews, The Sixteenth is back with a debut full length album due for release mid-2024. Expect cinematic, ambient, neo-classical and retrofuturist vibes, with influences ranging from John Barry to Philip Glass to Nils Frahm via Goldie and Amon Tobin. Expect the unexpected, basically.
