Ears Wide Open is my call for you to come wander open-heartedly into the endless realm of beats and melodies I dig, mostly – but not limited to – electronic, No boundaries or preconceptions, just all that music I wanted to share with the world, but I didn’t have the chance yet. 

I grew up listening to the radio or better said, the radio grew me musically, infected me with a visceral need to select the music I loved and tape it on cassettes. Later on, I started to buy vinyl and play them to the people at parties. Ears Wide Open triggers a new dimension of what DJing means for me. Tune in and enjoy!

Diving deep into a colorful record collection, we are glad to have Wafa AKA Q-Love as our guest for this thirteenth session for an hour long submersion in her unique universe.

I always try to create different themes for my mixes and be as expressive as I can be. I want to touch and reach listeners. 
In this mix I chose to express romantic vulnerability and reveal the dark side that’s  sometimes hidden or Unspoken.

For me, music is more than sound—it is a vessel of memory, resistance, and hope. This track merges electronic elements with a Palestinian lament to embody both pain and endurance. It asks us to reflect on injustice, to feel the weight of loss, and to recognize the power of voices that refuse to be silenced.

wo Brazilian artists, Tabbi (from São Paulo) and Leca (from Florianópolis), met in New York, thousands of miles from home, yet instantly recognized something familiar — the pulse of Brazilian soul beating in their hearts. Coming from opposite ends of the country, each carried her own accent, memories, and unique cultural repertoire.

What began as a simple musical exchange soon became something greater: the start of a true friendship and an artistic partnership that now binds us forever.

During the creation of Tom da Raiz, we realized we were composing more than just a song. We were weaving our stories together, translating into sounds and words what it means to be a woman, an artist, and a Brazilian living far from Brazil. This track is an intimate manifesto about belonging, the courage to follow one’s own path, and the resilience needed to keep the essence alive despite distance and challenges.

The vocal-poem, written in Portuguese, speaks of resistance, strength, and courage — an open letter to all women who, like us, hold on to their dreams and identities, even when the world seems to demand they bend:

- Deixa o tempo desenhar as respostas
- Nem tudo se pede, nem tudo se força
- O rio não apressa o encontro com o mar
- O vento não empurra o que já sabe voar…

Each verse is a reminder that there is strength in silence, beauty in waiting, and freedom in staying true to yourself. It’s about finding balance between longing and freedom, between memory and future.

The name Tom da Raiz is a tribute to what shapes and sustains us. It represents our origins, our stories, and the pride of being who we are. It’s the echo of our roots resonating, even oceans away, reminding us that everything essential remains.

Drawing influences from 60s psychedelic rock, modern electronic indie and other acoustic and natural sounds, Ada Kaleh’s music has a distinct mystique. Since the 2013 launch his own self-titled imprint, Ada Kaleh Romania, treasured releases on labels including (but not limited to) The Rabbit Hole, UVAR, R&S Records and RAWAX have solidified his influential status in the annals of Eastern European minimalism.

Ada Kaleh’s skills as a selector are equally as impressive. Drawing from an expansive catalogue of genre and place, Ada’s collection is the outcome of years of digging and honing his exceptional taste.

Biography 
DJing is as much an art form, as it is entertainment; finding the right records to move the dancefloor is one thing but giving audiences something to take away from the experience is quite another. Katie Drover knows how to take people to that next level injecting her performances with a captivating energy and passion that's made her an immediate standout wherever she plays.
A prodigious musical talent, Drover immersed herself in music from an early age, playing piano and saxophone and having a strong passion for classical music, jazz and blues. Katie's insatiable musical hunger meant she'd soon discover a liking for Lounge, Trip Hop and Acid Jazz, revelling in the likes of Tricky and downbeat masters Portishead and Massive Attack.
From the time she was 16 years old, Drover's desire to have her own proper slice of the dance music action led her to sneak into dance clubs and illegal raves where she was able to see how DJs controlled dancefloors and she was instantly fascinated by the energy in these rooms.
With a natural flair for blending a divergent array of sounds into one seamless flow, Katie's impact was instantaneous. Encompassing the full breadth of the house genre – from minimal, deep, to disco and electro – she'd drop it all, drawing influence from everyone from Billie Holiday and Nils Frahm to Matthew Herbert and DBX.
A favourite amongst Melbourne's punters, Katie held an enviable list of residencies, knocking out the goods at the most well known clubs in the city. Her ever-growing popularity also ensured she was able to travel to interstate and international parties ensuring she has the dancefloor's seal of approval. Now she resides in Berlin where she has a handful of residencies and plays regularly in the city known for its diverse record spinning talent.
