Cowardice is a spectrum. We think of deserters and under-duress bean-spillers, we think of conflict-averse ninnies absolutely drenching their dungarees with fight-or-flight peepee. We think of lily livers and snivelling. But cowardice is more widespread than that. It's woven into the fabric of our lives. Cowardice is subtle. Cowardice is banal. It's dreams suppressed for the mediocrity of 'stability'. It's not proposing to your longterm life partner due to your fear of ring-rash.
