Tankwart hails from the basement. The place where it can get beautifully cold and dark when being on your own, or warm and sweaty when dancing with friends. The place where social media lose reach and the reverb sounds so nice. You‘ll find him in his studio: a big mess that fosters his DIY production style. His musical interest starts when genres blend and punk is an approach. Wave, Triphop, Acid, Kosmische Musik. No cliches, blurred lines only.

Tankwart, also known as Bik, is a DJ, producer, and musician from Zurich. He is part of the band called Dâdalus & Bikarus and finds creative synergy with the label subject to restrictions discs. As an individual and part-time promoter Tankwart aims to unite diverse musical scenes in Zurich, fostering a bottom-up inspired local music community.

For this week we wanted to stir things up a bit by stepping out of our comfort zone. We love Techno, but most important we love music! Our guest for this week is Mikke Metal, a Copenhagen based musician known for numerous releases on Echocord and Kompakt. Both respectable labels in the electronic music scene. 

According to Mikkel, his approach for this mix was to go for tracks that are patient, eclectic, deep, cool and atmospheric rather than dancy stuff. So the result is a quite diverse selection of tracks.

“I started out, half by laziness, not wanting to beatmix, and then decided to make it principle not to beatmix and respect the original tempo of the tracks. Instead I allowed myself to work with effects etc, in order to focus on tonal instead of rhythmical transitions”
