healed.  It addresses these old wounds, with the spirit of love and forgiving, which is a testament to the strength and resilience of the Jamaican people who throughout any adversity survive and come
together.

Bloodlines

Raelle releases her new single, ‘Falling,’ the brand new single of her upcoming ‘Bloodlines’ EP. Encompassing the jazz-dark orchestral and RnB fusion sound, it reflects the gravity of the emotions being passed on through generational trauma within her Jamaican family. It is the ultimate story of betrayal and manipulation.

Falling

The final song on the Bloodlines EP, this explosive funk-tinged track is the cathartic release that the Bloodlines EP builds up to. Before this Raelle has expressed emotions of loss, of losing oneself, anger, betrayal and grief, before she lands on hope. “Hope is the last thing and sometimes the only thing we have to hold onto” is what Raelle says and it is the driving force behind this explosive track. Going through the motions of what it has been like as a child of Jamaican immigrants of the Windrush, she recounts her experiences and tales and the subsequent impact these generational curses has had on her life and where they have led her. “These things can leave you bitter and full of hate, but the purpose of this EP is to break generational curses”. Choosing to heal and choosing to see the person behind the perpetrator of these actions is something that Raelle has learned through the process of creating this body of work. To be able to recognise as just another human who has been hurt, who has loved, who has lost and recognising their strength as an individual who left their home to find and create a better life for themselves. This song is not a search for perfection, but one to appreciate and love the flaws in the individual. The message of the song, sung by Raelle in ethereal tones “Give me some hope, so I can find peace” is a message that runs true throughout and sums up the project, it is one of hope for a better tomorrow for herself and the entire Caribbean community here in the UK, so that we may all find peace within ourselves and our past.
