Jimmy relaunched Beat Assassins in 2016 having had previous success between 2006 & 2010 with Joe Lenzie of Sigma.

Since then Beat Assassins have had over 20 releases on various drum & bass labels such as Viper Recordings, Jungle Cakes, Dope Ammo, Gorilla Warefare, Wonky Goose and Jimmy's own label Mofo Recordings.

A number of high-profile drum & bass acts have remixed Beat Assassins. These include; Mob Tactics, Dope Ammo, TREI, Toronto Is Broken, DJ RAP, Kursiva, Giganti & Phibes. The Home Grown remix by Phibes became a Global Beatport number 1. Something that has only been achieved by a handful of drum & bass producers.

Beat Assassins also remixed UK festival superstars, the Dub Pistols. A massive track called Addict which was the title track of their LP also released on Jungle Cakes.    

Beat Assassins signature sound is vocal-driven drum & bass resulting in some collaborations with high profile artists such as Ragga Twins, Rider Shafique, Miss Stylie, Scarlett Quinn & Sifu Chan, to name a few.

In 2024 the Beat Assassins relentless drum n bass output continues with a track called Madd Ting and Roll Deep alongside a remix of Groove Armada’s Superstylin.

Born and raised in Japan, Leo Zen developed at a young age an intense passion for all things Bass. Originally immersing himself in the production side of music, he quickly discovered a knack for creating solid, grungy, hard basslines, incorporating deep melodic undertones that purveyed a sense of subtle urgency and emotion. Seeking to expand his knowledge and co-create with his peers Leo made the decision to move to one of the bass capitals of the world, British Columbia. Upon arrival  Leo quickly carved out a reputation for delivering extremely high energy sets; consisting of original production, diverse mixing, captivating stage presence, and an uncanny timing that has annihilated dance floors from Canada to Costa Rica, and all over Europe. With releases on Druid Records, Really Good Recordings, and Aufect Recordings, he has solidified himself as on of the premier Drum N Bass producer/DJ's in Western Canada. Always learning and growing Leo continues to use music as his tool to express his experiences, proving there are no boundaries, with the goal to elevate minds through sound!

Born on Road is a Bristol-based record label and DJ collective firmly rooted at the heart of drum and bass and jungle’s underground music scene. Since being established in 2013, we’ve built a reputation as an eclectic outfit known for pushing good music. It doesn’t matter if it’s jungle, jump up, ragga or some sublime vocal work, if we vibe with it then we’ll champion it to the masses.

This is an attitude born from our history in the underground music scene, where the free-flowing energy of sound system culture formed the foundations of the label’s all-inclusive ethos. It’s the reason why we’ve quickly grown into a sprawling music family who all support one another’s careers. From stage takeovers at festivals including Boomtown and Glastonbury, to signing the most exciting homegrown talents, Born on Road are always looking for ways to drive forward the underground scene, along with the artists inside it.

We may be a new wave music label, but we adopt the old school approach of putting the music first before anything else. This journey has been an eventful one so far, but there’s still plenty more to come on the road ahead.

Sergei "Kid Digital" has been a driving force in the Russian Breakbeat scene since the early 2000s, earning recognition as one of its founding pioneers. With a string of chart-topping releases, he made his mark before relocating to Southern California, where he reignited his musical journey. As the founder of Dizzy Beats Records, he continues to push the boundaries of electronic music, curating fresh, forward-thinking sounds.
