Welcome one and all to the amazing debut from Beat-Breaker on Breakbeat Paradise Recordings. To use the words, &ldquo;hard-working&rdquo;, &ldquo;diligent&rdquo; or &ldquo;perfectionist&rdquo; doesn&rsquo;t do the man credit, as you can hear from this 5-track piece of quality. It&rsquo;s been a year in the making, and it has definitely paid off.He kicks off the EP with a track featuring the absolutely awesome MARIA, who has found time in her busy schedule with Dutty Moonshine Big Band, lay some wicked tones on top of the opening banger. The track starts with a pure funked up guitar, laced with haunting, yet jazzy violins, and complimented with the wicked voice of MARIA. Though don&rsquo;t let the smooth intro sway you, as this number drops into some heavy beats and bass, alongside big rhymes to ensure it takes you on a journey of some funky ass Glitch Bass!!Keeping on the Glitch tip, the second track does exactly what it says on the tin. &ldquo;Drop the Bass&rdquo; does nothing but that. Quality Glitch-Hop, with clear beats, big sounds, and some 80&rsquo;s synths, that really gets those hands in the air.Moving onto S.T.P. (aka. Sticky Toffee Pudding), Beat-Breaker delivers even more bass heaviness. If you like your bleeps and analog synth sounds, then this track is the one for you. Taking a cheeky sample from the queen of cooking, he shapes this banger with bass just as squelchy as her S.T.P.If you like your funky breaks with that touch bass and sweet vocals, you&rsquo;re in the right place. For this whopper, Beat-Breaker enlists the wicked styles of Kurnel MC, who definitely brings the party vibes for this. The combinations of flowing basses and short sharp stabs from Kurnel MC, ensures a real soundsystem scorcher. Finishing off the EP, Beat-Breaker goes more up-tempo, bringing in the blinding vocals of Melody V. She hits you from the start, and keeps you locked. Alongside funky horns, subtle guitar riffs, and proper groovy drums, this track builds you up to a big breakbeat tune, that will have you jumping and wanting more.

The Fritz, beat maker extraordinaire and all round sample-based music enthusiast from Cornwall, returns to Ragtime Records with a Jazz Hop double A side, Lemonade, and Back in '89. 

Packed with vintage samples from London's 1920s swing scene and iconic Film Noir vocals, Lemonade is a glitchy lo-fi beat that's filled with rare Big Band loops that are blended with authentic Boom-Bap drums, MPC style. 

Next up is Back in '89, a swingy nod to the Golden Era of Hip Hop that's as atmospheric as it is catchy, with a stuttered sample, neck-breaking head-nod rhythm, and a warm low-end that's just right.

Extra Medium & MARIA have put together a high energy Jazz meets Drum & Bass track that puts the listener firmly into the Jazz club.
 
Extra Medium is a Bristol born producer that has been taking on the influences of the city’s underground music scene and fusing it with Jazz music.  His love for Jazz and obscure sampling has led him to fuse the rolling sounds of drum and bass and the big shuffling energy of UK Garage, creating a unique and big take on bass driven dance music.
 
MARIA is best known as the front lady from the Dutty Moonshine Big Band and the "Jazz In You" shows off her full range.  With choral high notes and few mean sixteens, MARIA shows off how important the jazz in you is. The "Jazz In You" is one to keep your "Jazz hands waggling" whilst pulling a mean bass face.
 
This track is unique in the way it gives a feeling of being in a chilled jazz bar whilst simultaneously being fused with the impact of big energy drum & bass & a powerful front lady MCing with a message of gender equality and how you need to love the Jazz In You.

After hearing J Fitz feature on Odd Chap's "Follow Me," Emma instantly knew that this was a collaboration that just had to happen, and here it is! Their song "Broken Door" is all about the troubles relationships can face, but like all Emma's songs, they always have a positive outcome.  

Broken Door is a beautifully sounding pop banger with crisp hip hop beats and a funky bassline.  The smooth vocals of Emma Lea & J Fitz sitting sweet on a lush bed of jazzy instrumentation. The Fritz - The Kitchen of Tomorrow

Stuck Up There is the latest instalment in The Fritz's exploration through  obscure jazz records and 1960s sci-fi. With a melancholy sample, the tune tells the story of a group of astronauts who are unable to get home after their  spaceship breaks down on the Moon.  
As the vocal sings 'misery, you've got to go', the astronauts look back at Earth  and lament that they'll never be able to describe the beauty of the view to  anyone back home.  
Coupled with Fritz's unique drum sound and crisp production, this latest  release form Ragtime Records is surely destined to get Stuck Up There after  you've played it through your headphones.
