SAMMUS is a Philly/Providence-based rap artist and producer. Her production is characterized by her use of uniquely chopped samples, and video game-like synths that are often contrasted with dirtier bass lines. She has been called a “20-credit” rapper because of her smart lyrics, diverse subject matter and versatile flow. As her Metroid-inspired name reflects, it is her hope that listeners and future fans will be pleasantly surprised by the contrast between the person society says she should be as an artist and who she actually is.

The term "Zero Suit" refers to  a mode from the popular Metroid video game franchise, in which the main character Samus is not wearing her famous full-body armor. By extension the "Zero Suits Podcast Situation" is a patreon-funded podcast in which two black creatives—PhD candidate and Afrofuturist producer & rapper Sammus as well as YA author Lanre Akinsiku—remove their armor to discuss the highs and lows of their new journey as full-time artists in Philly, as well as their relationships with music, writing, and each other. 

Ultimately this monthly podcast is designed to help artists navigate their own creative endeavors and educate supporters about some of the things that make artists tic.

Active from 2008-2015, Blue Food were a 7-piece progressive funk outfit from Northern New Jersey, known in the tri-state area for their powerful live sound, their epic and groovy songs, and their indomitable stage presence. Equal parts Led Zeppelin and Stevie Wonder, with just enough secret sauce to create a progressive funk rock fusion all their own, Blue Food were a feast for any ears hungry for something that challenged, engaged, and rewarded repeat listens.
