This sculpted studio set was made for maximum relistenability.  From deep & sexy broken beats through cerebral tech through ecstatic super house, this set is trying to capture the energy of last half of 2013 and the optimism for 2014.  Though most of it came together in one take, we spent weeks replacing some tracks & mixes.  As a result, we can happily say this is one of the best listening pieces we've done in terms of depth, mixing, & harmonics.  And bonus... y'know, you can dance to it :D

"This mix is a midtempo/funky house journey through some of my favorite genres- soul, hip-hop, gospel, bluegrass, Dolly (yeah, Dolly probably counts as her own genre). It makes me and mine move our happy asses and I hope it does the same for you and yours. Shout out to my crews Brass Tax and Angels of bAss- proud to still be going strong after all these years with y'all. And to HazMatt and my little man QDubs- my biggest cheerleaders and harshest critics who egg me on with DJ treats (french fries and booty shakes) but also never hesitate to tell me when something sounds "yucky." Thanks to the Space Cowboys for the invitation and to everyone who still follows me and remembers my name, even after I've stepped away from the scene for a minute or two. Kotton is part of the magical community of fun-making called Decadent Oasis. You might know them as the LED tree people at Burning Man. They do their best to make Bay Area fun on a regular basis.
