Go ahead, ransack any corner of the Hello Operator catalogue, and as if placing all your pennies on a school tombola, you’re likely to return with tales of hoity-toity monsters, animals behaving badly, Hamburg backstreets and Caribbean loose change. Indeed, over the past few years, the band has continually come up with the goods, carefully adding to their basket of infectious, cocksure sing-a-longs.

Founded on a shared affinity for rock ‘n’ roll, hip-hop and soulful melodies, the North Yorkshire four piece have been steadily braising a world of their own. Throughout their sound weaves an undercurrent of fuzzy guitars, thumping bass and drums, and an unmistakable vocal “I watched a clip of Otis Rush belting out ‘I Can’t Quit You Baby’ and thought - I’ve gotta learn to sing like that!” – Max Dalton.
What’s clear is this: it is a music born of the moment yet marinated in the best of the past.

Live electronica unit, Stretch Trio, blend digital ambience and soundscapes, with driving drum & bass grooves. Blurring the line between the premeditated structure of programmed electronic music and live real-time interaction, Stretch Trio appeal to both the die-hard dance fans and astute improvised music fans.

At the end of 2015, Stretch Trio will be recording their sound defining second album, to be produced by Pete Wareham. Expect fierce sub-bass, ambient effects loops and precision drum grooves that grab you by the throat.

Moonwreck are a four-piece post-rock/shoegaze band from Yorkshire, England.

Koyo Bloom, formerly known as KOYO, are a rock band, incorporating elements of alternative, psychedelic and progressive rock. Alumni of Leeds Conservatoire, they are a major factor in the city’s burgeoning music scene. 

Based on their live performance they were selected to open the BBC Introducing Stage at Reading and Leeds festivals. They followed up with performances at Rockaway Beach, Live at Leeds, Ramblin’ Man, Camden Rocks, Sheffield Tramlines, Bingley Weekender and Download. 

Their eponymous debut album received outstanding reviews across the music press, making the end of year top album listings in Classic Rock, PROG and Louder than War magazines. 

They re-entered the studio with producer Mike Horner (Hot Chip, Franz Ferdinand), resulting in standalone single “Before” and their sophomore album, You Said It. The album sustained support in the press and engaged with new fans, receiving airplay on BBC Radio Leeds, Amazing Radio, 6 Music, Radio X and Absolute Radio. 

With the lockdowns inhibiting their ability to tour, the band set to work on their third album, titled Onism. The band launched a crowdfunder to raise funds to complete the project. The campaign was successful and selected by Kickstarter as a “Project We Love”, highlighting it as a brilliant example of creativity.

Barely six months after closing out the Onism tour and showing no signs of slowing down, the band is set to unveil their fourth record, Distance, arriving Spring ‘26.  

The title track is out now.

Ceiling Demons are an alternative art-rap band from rural northern England. Born out of bereavement and taking influence from artists such as The Streets, Joy Division, Tricky and Serengeti. Combining poetic wordplay from front men and twin brothers; Psy Ceiling and Dan Demon over cinematic instrumentals, Ceiling Demons aim to strike your heartstrings with their intense and chaotic performances touching on themes of love and loss. Art over entertainment, delivered with a punk philosophy. The Demons are strong advocates of addressing mental health issues in their art and have worked extensively with suicide prevention charities such as CALM to raise awareness and funds for a cause close to their hearts. They’ve also supported the likes of Young Fathers, Sleaford Mods and Busdriver among other favourites and are championed by Louder Than War and NARC Magazine in the UK for their passionate live shows. Their critically acclaimed album Nil has been released by two independent record labels since it first emerged in late 2017 with Win Big Records initially putting out the album on CD and cassette formats before DIY record label; Butterfly Effect re-issued the album as a beautiful limited vinyl in 2018 with profits going towards mental health charity - Men Tell Health.

Brigantii are a Sheffield six piece pushing an eclectic mix of musical styles to create a unique and fresh sound all of their own. Combining influences from Indie, R&B and various forms of modern electronic and popular music their debut Carlton Breezy EP showcases their wide reaching appeal to all music fans. No strangers to a catchy three minute pop song, their saxophone tinged sound also allows them to venture into Hip-Hop, Ska and Reggae territory. 

Unlike a lot of similar sounding Indie outfits that profess to offer an alternative to the others whilst sounding typically uniform, Brigantii genuinely bring a brand new style to the current scene.

OtherPeoplesLives are a unique collective of musicians and producers based in Leeds, UK.

Calm, considered and intricately constructed layers of ambience meet raw eruptions of power, always with a firm grasp of crafting reverberant melodies that haunt the mind.

This highly dynamic quartet have grown from their roots in Post-Rock and now sprawl out over a wide range of influence, not one piece of their sonic puzzle is superfluous.

They are a deeply formidable proposition in a live setting where they are capable of creating an atmosphere that draws attention of rooms of all sizes.

Previous festival appearances include Standon Calling, Dot To Dot, Live At Leeds and Beacons Festival, they have also played alongside bands such as Post War Glamour Girls, Coasts, Big Deal and Mutiny On The Bounty.

Everything the band has released so far has received multiple airplay on BBC Introducing, XFM and others.  The majority of their work being self-produced, leaving Otherpeopleslives a self-contained unit of enviable ability.

Focussed, sweeping and atmospheric music with lyrical content that grapples the constraints of modern society, while dancing knowingly within it.
