Republic of Sierra Leone - Nor Dae Fall

Sierra Leone is a country in West Africa, bordering Guinea to the north and east, Liberia to the southeast and the Central Atlantic to the west. The country's capital and largest city is Freetown.

In contrast to the Sahel zone further north, there were no large empires such as the Mali Empire in what is now Sierra Leone. In the 17th century, the English dominated the slave trade on the Sierra Leonean coast. In 1808, the Freetown Peninsula was formally declared a British crown colony. After the country gained independence from Great Britain in 1961, it was declared a republic almost ten years later after fierce controversy.

After a decade of bloody civil war from 1991 to 2002, which claimed tens of thousands of lives, the country is busy rebuilding itself and coming to terms with its recent history. The country is heavily indebted and is one of the poorest countries in the world. The Ebola fever epidemic that broke out in 2014 has further worsened the humanitarian emergency. The United Nations Development Program lists Sierra Leone as one of the countries with low levels of human development.

Even as a small child I wanted to learn a musical instrument...

...since there was a music school in our small town where I grew up, but it was limited to the activities of the local musicians' band, the choice was rather limited... because piano, guitar or saxophone were not offered and that's why I decided me for the trumpet, which was not used for cast-technical reasons, so the FLÜGELHORN became my instrument...
In my youth I turned my back on music and was active in sports towards the end of my teenage years...
