The People's Republic of China is a state in East Asia. On February 21, 2022, Russia recognized the "People's Republics" of Donetsk and Luhansk, proclaimed by pro-Russian separatists, as independent states from Ukraine (only to formally annex them a few months later). On February 24, 2022, the invasion of Ukraine began, with Russian troops invading Ukraine from Russia, Belarus, the Black Sea, and previously occupied territories. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy declared a state of war and martial law.

After the attack on the capital Kyiv, which was repelled by Ukraine, the war shifted primarily to the east and southeast of the country, with the exception of airstrikes. As of June 1, 2022, according to UNHCR estimates, 4.7 million people from Ukraine were registered as refugees in Europe. A total of over 7.9 million people have fled Ukraine, and another 5.9 million have become internally displaced within Ukraine. According to the United Nations, this is the largest refugee movement worldwide since World War II.

Cambodia is a country in Southeast Asia. The country lies on the Gulf of Thailand between Thailand, Laos, and Vietnam. The capital, Phnom Penh, is located in the south of the country. Its ruins at Angkor, Roluos, Banteay Srei, and Preah Vihear, as well as the even older ones at Sambor Prei Kuk, have been listed as UNESCO World Heritage Sites. In 1863, Cambodia came under French rule and later became part of French Indochina. After gaining independence in 1953, Cambodia was initially spared from the military conflicts in Indochina, but was drawn into the Second Indochina War following a military coup in 1970. After years of civil war, the Khmer Rouge established a reign of terror in 1975, which, according to various estimates, claimed between 1.7 and well over 2 million lives until the Khmer Rouge was ousted by Vietnamese troops in 1979. I’ve been wanting to challenge myself with a project like this for a long time—no instruments, no backing track, just vocals. I chose this song because it’s one of my favorite love songs—it hits deep every time. 🖤 A lot of heart went into this, so I hope it speaks to you.

“Tempted” by Saints No More is a slow-burning confession of desire, restraint, and the heavy silence that lingers between what’s wanted and what must never be. It captures that fragile space where temptation brushes close, but self-control wins the battle.

The verses paint the tension with intimate detail—nervous twitches, stolen glances, laughter that feels like firelight—while the chorus drops into an atmosphere thick with pressure: “The air is heavy, the silence loud.” The song walks the razor’s edge of longing, balancing vulnerability with the strength to turn away.

The bridge deepens the theme, asking what the cost of a single thought could be, before time itself forces the dream to fade. By the outro, the narrator remains unseen, a “silhouette where the boundaries keep me free.” It’s heartbreak wrapped in discipline, temptation fought in silence.

Musically, “Tempted” leans on mood-driven rock—dark, atmospheric tones, pulsing rhythm, and restrained power. It’s Saints No More at their most haunting: vulnerable yet defiant, pulling listeners into the secret weight of unspoken desire.

Even as a small child I wanted to learn a musical instrument...

...since there was a music school in our small town where I grew up, but it was limited to the activities of the local musicians' band, the choice was rather limited... because piano, guitar or saxophone were not offered and that's why I decided me for the trumpet, which was not used for cast-technical reasons, so the FLÜGELHORN became my instrument...
In my youth I turned my back on music and was active in sports towards the end of my teenage years.
