From the heart of Far North Queensland’s underground music scene, Rizon Live (aka Quetek) has spent over 20 years shaping soundscapes and igniting dancefloors with his high-energy, genre-bending performances. A true sonic craftsman, he seamlessly blends Psytrance, Drum & Bass, Garage, Electro Swing, and Jungle, creating immersive experiences that take audiences on a journey through sound.

As a Doubsquare Records DJ and live act, Rizon represents the label’s deep, hypnotic, and psychedelic sound, delivering driving basslines, ethereal textures, and explosive drops. His sets are a fusion of precision production and raw energy, making him a key figure in bringing Doubsquare’s global Psytrance movement to Australian dancefloors.

Beyond Psytrance, he is a master of musical fusion, weaving Drum & Bass, Electro Swing, Garage, and Jungle into a high-energy blend of underground sounds. With a deep respect for both modern bass culture and vintage-inspired music, he bridges eras and styles in ways few can. Whether it’s a soulful Speakeasy set or a hard-hitting festival showcase, Rizon delivers an experience that’s both unique and unforgettable.

Irise – The Psytrance Live Experience
As a core part of Doubsquare Records, Rizon co-founded Irise, a live Psytrance act with multi-instrumentalist Izak Scott. More than just DJing, Irise brings Psytrance to life, incorporating live guitar, percussion, saxophone, vocals, and FX into its performances.

With Izak’s fluid, improvisational harmonics and Rizon’s deep electronic mastery, Irise has become a defining feature of Doubsquare’s label showcases in Australia. Alongside fellow Doubsquare artists Miss Jade (Victoria) and Sharkra (New Zealand), the team is setting a new standard for hybrid Psytrance performances and showcase sets at festivals and club nights alike. Artists will be on tour in Australia and New Zealand this year—stay tuned!

Beyond the Decks: A Force in the Scene
Rizon is more than just a DJ—he’s an architect of the underground, actively involved in event production, artist mentorship, and festival support through Locally Hosted Australia. Working alongside local promoters, festival crews, and community groups, he plays a major role in strengthening Australia’s independent music scene.

He has performed and worked behind the scenes at some of the region’s most notable festivals and events, including:

🎪 Shine On Gimuy Festival, Kuranda Roots Festival, Orin Aya, NYX Festival, Roots Fest, Berlin Calling, Grass Is Greener, Festival Cairns, and Port Douglas Carnivale.

After a 10-year network and development era in Victoria, Rizon returned to Cairns to perform at the 2012 Solar Eclipse Festival, marking a defining moment in his career. 
Since then, he has been a driving force in the revival and evolution of the Far North Queensland underground scene, supporting the next generation of artists and promoters while pushing boundaries as a performer and independent event curator.

A Comment on Supporting Independent Music

"Mainstream streaming platforms don’t fairly compensate artists, which is why I choose to support independent music. As a freelance artist, I don’t rely on major streaming services— instead, you can find my music on Bandcamp and SoundCloud. I also support independent artists and labels by purchasing music through Beatport or directly from their websites or in person.

The industry is evolving, and I believe in a future where artists and producers are paid sustainably for their work. There are many networks and avenues out there—each to their own—but for me, it's about keeping the music and the artists at the heart of it all."

Hunter the Gatherer is dedicated to the search for eclectic global sounds, compiling them together, and creating a journey of prayer for the dancer. 

As a dancer and being versed in 5 Rhythms I intentionally curate journeys from that perspective. A way for the body to express all the different parts and for the emotions to be felt and alchemized.  

I bring my love of different sounds and my range of different electronic textures and genres to create a colorful landscape to journey through. 

Any time I play for others it is a deep honor and I use it as an offering to our temples so that we can express our prayers and move stuck energy that no longer serves us. 
I play for those who came before and will come after me.
