A Qwalia live show is a jump into the unknown - for the band and the audience. The quartet arrive with no prepared material and they don't play anything from their albums. They sit down, they begin to play and what comes next is as much a surprise to them as the people audience. 

That's how their albums were written and that's how this live session at London's much loved 91 Living Room on Brick Lane happened. Band leader Yusuf Ahmed selected 4 sections from their two, continuous 45 minute, improvised sets to share here in the first of a series of live EPs.

A truly epic night to say the least! An amazing crowd and incredible vibes. The only thing I prepared for this show were a collection of sequences and drum patterns from my sequencer. All voices, drum kits, modular patches, effects, etc were all created on the spot.
