A short orchestral and classical piece on Christmas, blatantly inspired by Tchaikovsky, Prokoviev, Korngold and a bit of Ketelbey.

As usual, everything was written and recorded using open source and free tools: Ardour, MuseScore, Michael Willis's VPO template for Ardour, Sfizz, DragonFly Reverb and others.

Instrument sounds come from the Virtual Playing Orchestra (SFZ), using a variant of the SFZ files I edited myself.

The song was written and recorded by Hoagy Carmichael in 1930.  However, it has been most often associated with Ray Charles, This is my take on it. Georgia On My Mind

Dedicated to Brown and Sande, no one reflects the spirit of San Francisco more. 

The song was written in 1953 by George Cory and is best known as the signature song of Tony Bennett. It peaked at number 19 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100. It also reached number 7 on the Easy Listening chart. The song was selected for preservation in the National Recording Registry by the Library of Congress as being a culturally, historically, and artistically significant song of the 20th century.
This is my take on it. I had the baritone saxophone take the lead in the solo section and finished it with a big band feel. Don't forget to hit that like button and follow and if you have any I'd like to read your comments.  Thank you so much for listening.

A bit like I did in "Jade" a few years ago, this was an attempt to write more or less "traditional" Japanese folk music, mimicking their traditional instruments, all with a soundtrack feel to it (especially in the strings sections). For the percussions finale, I used the excellent (and free) SCC Taiko Drums SFZ library by S. Christian Collins.

As usual, everything was written and recorded using open source and free tools: Ardour, MuseScore, Fluidsynth, Sfizz, Yoshimi, DragonFly Reverb and others.
