A rare unique pysch-pop gem from the depths of Iran's 'Filmfarsi' cinema. Surely subject to controversy at the time (and perhaps even now), Tila's sensual performance and Manteghi's lyrics, are unlike anything else heard in popular Iranian music - a phenomenon even made crazier by the fact that legendary composer Anoushirvan Rohani was behind the groovy arrangement (although mysteriously, there is no composer credit listed). Tila has a few soundtrack records to her name, as well as a few funky duets alongside Zia Atabay. Not much else is known about her career. Enjoy 🍒

Persian poetry meets The Beatles in legendary Iranian popstar Aref's rare cover of "I Saw Her Standing There", performed in an Iranian 6/8 rhythm, dating back to the mid-60s and marking unique territory in his early discography🤘The Beatles had immense influence on the global rock music scene and Iran was no exception. Their songs were performed and covered by various Iranians artists at the time, and in fact this song was also covered in English by Shahram Shabpareh's band "The Rebels" in the 60s. Stranger Song

Iranian folk-pop meets Anatolian rock in Rashin’s "Dokhtare Dehkadeh" (The Village Girl), a haunting Farsi rendition of a folk song and likely inspired by "İşte Hendek İşte Deve" from Barış Manço, legendary Turkish musician, TV host, and cultural ambassador who pioneered fusing Turkish folk with rock and psychedelia. The rare Persian rendition of the catchy tune was given a distinct Iranian twist in the early 70s with Ataollah Khorram's arrangement, and Rashin's folkloric take on the song with lyrics from Karim Mahmoudi.

آهنگ “دختر دهکده” ی راشین باز اجرایی از باریش مانچو، نمونه ای خیلی جالب و کمیاب از بازاجراهایی ایرانی این بار از موسقی سایکدلیک ترکیه ای! باریش مانچو، موسیقیدان افسانه‌ای ترکیه، مجری تلویزیونی و سفیر فرهنگی بود که پیشگام تلفیق موسیقی فولک با راک بود.
نسخه فارسی این آهنگ جذاب احتمالا در اوایل دهه ی ۵۰ شمسی با تنظیم عطاالله خرم با رنگ و بویی ایرانی با شعری از کریم محمودی اجرا شد
