The Gerd Janson remix pumps the original track with plenty of energy. Gerd ups the tempo while maintaining the emotive nature of Biesmans’ original. This is guaranteed to uplift the dance floor at peak time, with punchy beats, sprightly effects and a morose bassline - plus the robotic vocals, which are bound to spark singalongs from the crowd.

The first premiere of the year was cooked with groove and love in northern Russia, in Saint Petersburg to be more precise. Prolific DJ and producer Nightdrive makes his debut on the respected French label Citizens of Vice with “Improvisation”, a well-constructed (and far from being improvised) four-original EP that presents itself as a true showcase of the Russian artist’s sonority.

With appearances on interesting imprints such as Midnight People, U're Guay, Dug Up The Bongo, ANDRAS, Electric Shapes, welofi, Lisztomania, Tapes From Future, and Diffuse Reality, just to name a few, Nightdrive flirts competently with many a genre, delivering from Balearic-infused to experimental-driven cuts. For Citizens of Vice, he decided to explore his House, Jazz, Ambient, and Balearic influences, and the result is a must-have EP for the fans of classy tunes out there.

Premiered here, the title track is the most dance-floor-oriented from the release – imagine dance floors beside a beach or a swimming pool, though, no filthy and sweaty basement thoughts here. With an elegant piano layer and delicate guitar riffs, the theme evokes warm summer breezes and a strong craving for rum cocktails – preferably those with tiny umbrellas and pineapple slices as decoration.

Home of retro-infused Modern Disco cuts, the Spanish label Astrolead Recordings has been amassing a second to none catalogue when it comes to vintage-synth-based music. Its curator, prolific Ilya Santana (SXDNS072), makes an impeccable job featuring not only his own massive output, either flying solo or in collaboration with special guests, but also the originals and remixes by other artists of the genre. For the forthcoming episode of his imprint, Master Santana partners with singer Sandry Sanz and brings to life the single “Pain Embracer”, a beautiful and melodic neon-lit theme handed over in four different versions: Vocal, vocoder, instrumental, and an essential interpretation by Seville-based producer Jason Core.

Premiered here, the main Vocal Mix seems to transport us to the universe of a Sic-Fi 80s movie whose plot depicts a love story full of deception, pain, and resilience. Exquisite synth layers, dazzling leads, a throbbing bassline, and Sandry’s mesmerizing vocals set the mood of the narrative.

Music is our sole driving force. Eclecticism, open-mindedness, divergence and non-conformity are the values we cherish. To achieve this, 3 or 4 artists from different musical backgrounds will come together on each release.
All of our artists, whether known or unknown, will work under a secret code name so that their true identities remain out of the public domain to avoid any preconceived ideas or a particular bias. By doing this, the music will always come first. Each release will be identified by a simple QR code, which, when flashed, will take you to a web page that will give, among other things, the artist's code name.
In the current market, most digital and vinyl sales occur over an average period of 2 months. Once this time period has elapsed, the true identity of each artist (if they wish) will finally be revealed on our web site. It is only then, two months after the release that the artists will be allowed to start communicating.
Contrary to the usual practice, COD3 QR will search out artists rather than the other way around, so it won't be possible to send us music. The founders of COD3 QR will also remain anonymous because their identities must not affect the image, expectations or perception of the label. To ensure anonymity, all of our artists will sign a contract agreeing to keep silent or be economical with the truth about the identity of those behind the label and the artists.
The music alone will be the reason why we sign an artist, and we want music to be the only reason for people to take an interest and engage with the label. For this to succeed, we must remain free of all expectations and all prejudices because only one thing counts: the music, The Music, THE MUSIC in every shape and form!

Back in September 2018 @Sprechenmusic joined forces in a Marvel team up kinda way with some very good friends from Jakarta, Indonesia as part of the Coming Together residential programme via the Arts in Indonesia.

It was a 2 week long studio which saw artists from the Double Deer label (@doubledeerrecords) in Jakarta come to Manchester to exchange ideas, skills & work methods with artists from Sprechen, the result? A collection of original tracks & remixes as well as an everlasting musical friendship that since taking place has produced several label releases (with more en route!) from some of the most exciting artists out of Indonesia.

The Coming Together E.P.  features 2 tracks produced during the exchange which saw the electronic duo KimoKal )(@kimokal) and Harvy Abdurachman (@harvy_abdurachman) from Double Deer in the studio with Massey (@chrismasseymusic) & TJ Lawton (@tjlawton) from Sprechen to create 2 electronic, squelched up ear worms which also features mega producer/remixer/artist James Yuill as well as Indonesia mega artist Kallula on vocal duties.

Sounds of Manchester basements twist & turn with the tropical heated dance floors & shebeens of Jakarta with a slight cinematic approach.

Finally we’re thrilled to have this release dropping having been hit by various delays, mix downs and then that blooming covid thing, but here we are…coming together across continents, speaking music, making art X
