Time Element est le nouveau projet de Jason Van Gulick et d’Olivier Desmulliez.
Les deux musiciens donnent suite au duo Ed Wood Jr et à leurs diverses collaborations passées.

Time Element propose des plages instrumentales à la croisée de l’electronica et de la musique contemporaine.
Ici, on porte une attention très particulière à la texture, au relief, à la diffusion du son, tout entre en résonance et s’harmonise pour proposer une immersion dans un voyage (presque) instrumental. 

Cette musique d’avant-garde où rythmiques étourdissantes et thèmes mélodiques évoluent en parfaite symbiose dans les dédales d’un spectre sonore aussi large que complexe, est à écouter assis, debout, allongé, les yeux ouverts ou fermés …

NOTE : synthèse granulaire (sur gtr) : taille du plus petit élément, de la plus grande finesse d'un système. Quand on arrive au niveau de granularité d'un système, on ne peut plus découper l'information. Par exemple dans une population, la granularité est l'individu. Ici, les notes sont éclatées en milliers de petits sons qui se diffusent de manière aléatoire dans l’espace et le temps.

On digital rhythms, Black Mantis brings to dance together oriental sounds of the mandol, vibrations of the chinese pipa and indian melodies of the sitar
and the bansuri flute. 
In this meeting of opposites, the band produces a singular music, both contemplative and dancing, traditional and futuristic.

wAgAwAgA is experimenting with sound synthesizers, audio manipulation, live drums and instrumentation. styles ranging from dub, jungle, jazz, triphop, electronica. 
elements of eastern music and natural sounds find their way in also.
