La Chola Y El Gitano es un dúo de Folk Rock Experimental que nace el año 2013 (Valdivia), inspirado primeramente en los ritmos y cantos de tradición (cueca,  rumba flamenca, huayno, canto carnático, landó, entre otros), para derivar en una creación híbrida que destaca por su expresivo trabajo vocal, y una lírica con sentimiento y sentido terrícola.

Patricio Wang (1952) Studied Composition, Architecture, & Sound Tecnology  at the Universidad de Chile and Composition and Classical Guitar at the Royal Conservatory of the Hague. 
He composes concert music for both soloists and ensembles. Since 1977 he has been regularly writing music for film, dance, theater and music theater. His work has been recorded by many artists.
Some of his work includes the opera a capella "Tragicomedia de don Cristóbal y doña Rosita” based on the play by F. García-Lorca; the opera "Pinocchio' for 10 singers/actors and 7 musicians for the ROTheater; the Dance-Opera "A taste ofglamour" for 4 countertenors/dansers and 4 musicians; “Two Sisters for two piano’s for the pianoduo Post & Mulder, “Schipbreuk”(Naufrage) voor het Loos Ensemble & electronics, “Shadows" for Catch Electric Guitar Quartet; "María Nuñez" Music Theater (top 5 of the best opera productions 2012-2013 in Holland)"Requiebros" for string orchestra en el. guitar; "Maria Nuñez" music theater (Theatermaker magazine's top 5 of the best opera productions 2012-2013 in Holland; "Desierto" for baritone & string orchestra on poems by Gabriela Mistral.
He has been member of various ensembles, among others BARROCO ANDINO, (Chili), AMANKAY,  HOKETUS and LOOS in Holland. Since 1981  member of the famous chilean ensemble QUILAPAYUN  and since 1990 his musical director. He is also a member of the electric guitar quartet CATCH (guest soloists with the New York Philharmonic in 2014.
As an interpreter of contemporary music he has regularly played with different ensembles and orchestras, including Ensemble Intercontemporain, Asko&Schoenberg Ensemble, Concertgebouw Orkest, Orchestre de Paris, Radio Kamer Filharmonie, Ensemble Contrechamps, Moscow Contemporary Music Ensemble, Noord Nederlands Orkest, Ensemble Modern, MusikFabrik, New York Philharmonic, among others.
