Joaquin Cornejo finds hypnotic depth with his version of "Aguita Pura", while Barbarella takes "Suma Pinta Yage" to incendiary new heights.

Following last month's inaugural installment from 
Desert Trax, the world and electronic music label releases yet another star­ studded line­up of producers re­imagining the rich compositions of World Soul artist, Poranguí Carvalho McGrew.
This latest installment opens with famed English producer,El Búho, whose Latin American folk and cumbia­ inspired take on “Danza del Viento” absolutely lifts the Spirit.Both Momentology and DJ Taz Rashid have been on a hot streak, pairing up for a number of releases onDesert Dwellers' label, but this time the pair aim for a Latin­ focused, earthy remix of “Canto de la Selva.” Coming off a massive Desert Trax 
release earlier this summer in Apu, duo Jakare (Italian producers Halfred and Lo.Renzo) bring their South American slow house sound to Poranguí 's “Otorongo”.  Newcomers to the label Ryan Herr, Walkerji, and Baptiste Sejourne are joined by returning favorites Moon Frog, Ancestral Elephants, and Erothyme. Once again one 
of the label's most prolific artists, Poranguí, has woven together a powerful constellation of talent to interpret these potent medicine songs. Poranguí Remixes Vol II is out on Desert Trax

You are invited to take a moment to contemplate what it means to embody receptivity. In what ways can you embrace and accept what is happening in your life? What can you feel going on in your body, mind, and emotions? Be receptive to it all, and allow the energy to flow into your dance. Often times it is through surrender and receptivity that a clear path forward is provided.

This set was played for Asheville Movement Collective's Sunday morning dance on May 16th. There's a lot of bird medicine in this set through the lyrics of a couple of songs. I didn't plan it out that way, it just happened. 

And so on the day of the dance, while we danced outside in my yard, of course, feeling our call a hawk circled us as Deya Dova's song "Return of the Bird Tribes" began, and then later during our closing circle as Shaunna was sharing her dance experience she noticed a hawk flying above her outside her house where she was dancing. And as she describes this to us all, my housemates and I saw our hawk return to circle above us! Praise the magic of our winged allies who help to sooth the winds of change that cross our skies. We love you!

During over 13 years of his musical involvement, from the Norwegian Fjord Rave, underground Tokyo venues, through the legendary Berlin Tresor, best polish clubs, to finally the Amazon Jungle and the Sacred Valley of Peru, as one of the very few in the world, he managed to avoid genre labeling and shared the line up with different artists like MOSE, Ape Chimba, Rodrigo Gallardo, Janax Pacha, Laboratorium Pieśni, Dengue Dengue Dengue, Flume, Teebs, Lapalux, Low Leaf and many more. He brought his plant medicine music selection to Ecstatic Dance Sessions in London, Berlin, Romania, Greece, Poland, Peru, Costa Rica and Mexico.  

Nowadays he focuses on rising collective consciousness, producing ritualistic sounds, djing and designing mystical experiences in Peru. In the Amazon Jungle he created an online educational donation based course called 'The Alchemy of Self' and evolved it into a spiritual retreat design agency. He was invited to co-create the McKenna Academy, a modern mystery school of natural philosophy carrying the work and legacy of Terence and Dennis McKenna.
