This one was a real fun challenge, and the first time I've really done more than an off-the-cuff set with another DJ. We trade 10 minute sections back & forth for the full hour, and I'm really happy with how this one came out!

Advent Day 7 - DIESEL TAKEOVER Jim Reaper - Like That (Original Mix)

Advent Day 8, and we bring you the first mixtape of our festive journey of free beats. This time, I'm staying local to bring you a mix from Peterborough legend Sincere. A DJ, label owner, promoter and radio show host; Sincere has been there, done it, got the t-shirt and had two more t-shirts since because the others wore out.

Known for his love of drum and bass and jungle - that of the funky, soulful, deep and liquid varieties, in particular - Sincere presents us with his High Rollaz Advent Mix, which features some of his favourite tunes of the year. Rollers are in plentiful supply in this one, but the basslines and the positive energy are the driving forces that will leave you flying high by the time you're done. The vibe is just right for any pre-sesh, but if you're not going out, you best decide what you're wearing before you hit play, because out you'll be going!

If the flavour of Sincere's superb and sublime mix has whet your appetite for more, you can catch him spinning sounds of a similar nature on Future Sounds Radio every Saturday from 6pm - 8pm. Happy weekend folks!

Advent Day 8: Sincere - High Rollers Advent Mixtape

After five years of planning, writing, and refining their sound, London-based production duo Kolectiv are set to release their long-awaited debut drum & bass album, Circadian Rhythms.

The project began in the aftermath of the pandemic, when the pair started setting aside tracks that captured the spirit of a night out at a drum & bass event. Their vision was clear: to create an album that reflects the variety, energy, and progression of a rave – from the first beats that pull you into the closing sounds that carry you home.

“Going out to drum & bass nights, you’d hear so many different flavours across six or seven hours. We wanted the album to follow that same arc – like a circadian rhythm, a natural flow of time, but in this case the cycle of a rave,” Kolectiv explain.

To achieve this, the duo placed a strong emphasis on originality and sound design. Most of the album was built from scratch using their own recorded samples, crafted through sessions with keys, drums, and guitars, and only dipping into external sources when absolutely necessary. Vocal collaborations from PAV4N, Hijak MC, Illmatika and Kerry Donnelly add unique flavour to the project, while carefully placed interludes tie the project together as a complete listening experience.

“This isn’t just a collection of tracks. We wanted it to be a journey – a cradle-to-grave kind of experience – with highs, lows, and moments to breathe.”

The title Circadian Rhythms captures that intention perfectly: an audio diary of a night spent immersed in drum & bass culture, told through Kolectiv’s trademark blend of technical precision and emotional depth.

The project also coincided with a complete studio overhaul, giving Kolectiv a fresh environment to finalize and mix down the record with a renewed sense of clarity and focus.

With Circadian Rhythms, Kolectiv deliver more than an album – they present a story, an atmosphere, and a tribute to the music and culture that shaped them.
