Fanon Flowers (based in Los Angeles, California) was born and raised in Kalamazoo, Michigan, exactly halfway between Detroit and Chicago, the birthplaces of techno and house music. A product of his environment, he grew up listening to Italian Disco, Chicago House and Detroit Techno. At the age of 17, Fanon purchased his first synthesizer and drum machine and started buying dance 12" records. Fanon soon developed a style which combined the funky, dark, industrial syncopated rhythms of techno with the soul of house music.
Fanon Flowers began to garner attention in 1994 when he appeared as Mode Selector on the "Elements of and Experiments with Sound" compilation on Detroit's seminal Planet E label. Subsequent EPs for such labels as Reference, Konsequent, Sheep, E-Com, and Holtzplatten established Flowers' reputation as a prominent American techno producer. In 1996, Fanon Flowers appeared under his Mode Selector alias on the "Detroit: Beyond the Third Wave" Compilation. Released on Astralwerks, Flowers appeared alongside Detroit techno stalwarts such as Claude Young, Ectomorph, Sean Deason, and Anthony "Shake" Shakir. 
That same year, Flowers started his own techno imprint, Mechanisms Industries (distributed by Triple Vision Holland), to showcase his unique and funky approach to techno. With over 50 records produced and released on various labels, Fanon Flowers embarked on several European Tours and One-off events playing in Slovakia, Spain, Belgium, Sweden, Germany and England. Fanon Flowers also launched a limited edition vinyl two release project called Studio Sound (distributed by Crosstalk International Chicago). The label’s focus is Acid Techno and pure Detroit Techno and the first released is called the “Acid Kush EP” by Fanon Flowers. The second release called “Detroit-Chicago” was released in 2010. The year 2009 saw the release of Mechanisms Industries monster remix 12”of the legendary Hard minimal Techno track “Dom” by Obscurum originally released in 1997 on E-Com Records Germany. The remix 12” includes remixes by Spanish Techno producers Exium, Reeko and Fanon Flowers. In 2011 the latest project to be released on Mechanisms Industries called “Antikythera Mechanism”, showcases the depths of the Mechanisms sound. Also in 2011 were releases on Modularz, Reaktor and Sect Records (UK).

I wanted to tell a painful fun story about this recording. 

Last year, after long planning and preparations we finally set the date and slot for my new album Ex Nihilo’s first show ever. It supposed to be on the Robot Heart bus, which has a special meaning for me and my career.  For this show i had very special slot which was supposed to be during the man burn. 

I made my last preparations, all cables were checked, everything was so ready for my album premiere!  And on the last countdown, about an hour before my show, I started to have this weird and intense pain, spreading all over my body. The amount of the pain kept elevating while there was only 30 minutes to the show! Cramps like 10 people stabbing me all over. It was impossible to even lay down on the bed. I was writhing in the rv.  Finally I realized i was dropping fucking kidney stones right on the time of this very important moment of my life. So of course I had to miss my show and that nightmare kept on for several more hours.

The day after when I went to the bus to see temple burn, I heard one of my dear friends was gonna miss his show, so I was told to jump on the decks, not while man burn maybe but for post temple burn :) It was a kind gesture from the universe. So this set was recorded in a moment like that.. Hope you enjoy!

With a career spanning two decades, Dimi shows how the good music can be, presenting his emotions and honestly in everything he presents to us and and maintaining his loyalty to his vinyl records.
With his own brand ANGLS, Dimi also released in labels like Warm up the EP "Tonight's Sky", "Inverse Theory" on legenday Mord, or being part of various artists  "Okiami -Part II" in Krill music.
Passing clubs all over the world, since Berghain in Berlin, to Underclub in Argentina, ​Botanik Social House in South Africa or Propaganda in Rusia today he have the pleasure to receiving him with a special poscast.
