This could be special because it's so raw,
I don't know what I feel so exposed for,
Like you could see through the masks that I wore,

I'll know he's the one that's been living in your dreams,
And, I won't be too proud to know when I've been beat,
I hope he makes you happy, and I hope we get to meet,

There are some forces that make no sense to resist,
I don't know who you can see but I'm invested in this,
I'm turning two pages and I'm losing the thread,

I traded suits for the scent of rain
Left my briefcase on the morning train
Got no time to run their gold-plated maze
I'm walking out on those numbered days

I turned my back on the rat race grind
Left their ladder for the clouds to climb
No more ticking clocks to steal my soul
I’m clocking out for where I can grow

The city hum now feels like a fevered moan
A rhythm made of flesh and stone
They bind their dreams with nine-to-five
I broke my chains just to feel alive

So here’s to a life that rolls like streams
Away from the chaos into lucid dreams
While they run their race I stop and stare
Breathing in a world that’s wild and rare
