Concretion

a project created in december 2020 found from the archive 

Procedure:
A MIDI sequence was created with Elektron Octatrack,
which drives a piano track in Ableton.
The sequence was then broken down into four melodic lines.
The first line were transposed by +7 semintones
the second by +11 semitones
the third -13 semitones
the fourth line remains in the same pitch
then the harmony was extracted from each melodic line.
For each track, the ghost plays its part and sings as it pleases.
Next, for the sake of musicality, each ghost decides which notes to play and which to omit from its part.
During the performance the Time increase and the ensemble takes place

Kaya Shirao was born in 1738 in Fukagawa, Edo, now part of Tokyo.

He ran a school in Edo during Spring and Autumn, but in Summer and Winter, he would move to the countryside to teach thousands of aspiring poets from throughout the Shinano province (now Nagano Prefecture). He's considered one of the first established haikai writers to help spread cultural forms from national to regional urban centers.

A four-minute ambient journey built from four evolving one-minute drones — each exploring a distinct emotional landscape.
Major to minor, light to dark, tension to abstraction:

00:00 – 01:00 → Luminous, joyful
01:00 – 02:00 → Dark, melancholic
02:00 – 03:00 → Anxious, tense
03:00 – 04:00 → Abstract, strange

Synthesizers and acoustic instruments blend seamlessly to create a warm, organic soundscape — bowed upright bass, harmonica, harmonium, and Tibetan bowls intertwine in a meditative yet cinematic flow.

„Fallende Rosenblätter“ (18.10.2025)

Mein kleiner, musikalischer Klangzyklus über Blumen geht weiter.

Fallende Rosenblätter 

Zarte Rosenblätter liegen auf dem kalten Marmorstein. 
Ist das alles was geblieben ist vom Leben. Ein Marmorstein mit Gravur und verwelkten gefallenen Rosenblättern.

Eine Blüte einer Rose bleibt nicht ewig.
So auch die Liebe wie das Leben.
Wie eine Knospe einzeln gewachsen, so welken und vergehen einzeln Momente wie Rosenblätter. 
Ob gelebt oder geliebt oder auch nicht.
Wir werden zu gefallenden Rosenblättern. 
Fallen aus dem Leben und in das Leben hinein.

My small musical sound cycle about flowers continues.

Falling Rose Petals

Delicate rose petals lie on the cold marble stone.
Is this all that remains of life? A marble stone with an engraving and wilted fallen rose petals.

A rose blossom doesn't last forever.
So does love and life.
As a bud grows individually, so do individual moments wither and fade like rose petals.
Whether lived or loved or not.
We become fallen rose petals.
Falling from life and into life.

I translate the title to my language, catalan. "Drawn back by the sea" is "Arrossegat per la mar" on my island. In Catalonia, they say: "Arrossegat pel mar". The Balearic form is more poetic for me.
