A contemporary of Basho, Den Sutejo was the eldest daughter of a distinguished samurai family living in the mountainous area northwest of Kyoto. After her husband’s death, she became a nun and spent the final years of her life as a Zen devotee.

Il y a une autre dimension de la vie. Les eaux nocturnes du rêve sont nées lorsque le monde est né. La question est de savoir comment retrouver la présence du vrai lieu. Est-ce le hasard qui nous fait nous rencontrer ? Tout est à l’image de notre errance et de notre clandestinité. A n’importe quel endroit de la ville, je les rencontre à chaque pas. Il s’agit d’extraire de cette terre qui est la vie, les êtres avec lesquels on est fait pour capter la lumière-seconde au vol et la couvrir de larmes et de baisers. Voici l’image blanche de celle qui arrive dans le froid nocturne, de celle qui vient, qui ne peut pas ne pas venir, qui peut-être est déjà venue dans le lieu du surgissement d’un monde encore inexprimé.

Il existera un regard de source plus profond que le soleil ; celui dont la lueur vivante sera l’idée d’une autre lumière dans l’espace nocturne. Il y a plus, il y a métaphysiquement plus, et plus loin que la figure de notre lieu. C’est le rivage beaucoup plus nu, à la fois simple et éternel des terres inexplorées. Il apparaît qu’au-delà de nos frontières et de nos murs, il y aura à nouveau la quête du secret de cette dimension d’imaginaire.

Il y a la présence du monde naturel de l’enfance et il y a la présence au monde, la lumière de l’instant. Il faut être déjà et toujours en avance d’une vie par le regard et la parole. L’une n’est rien sans l’autre. Le monde sans l’autre ne respire pas, il n’a pas d’être. Le matin court dans la nuit rejoindre la région première d’une déesse et la chaleur d’un feu nouveau.
