With planning now for the @naviar-records event on 7th December at Cafe Oto, I'm thinking now as pieces as fragments that will make for materials for live mixing and performance on the night.

This is a tiny fragment from the improvisation I did the other week with @stellato-strings on the violin, me on the piano, and through panning, repetition and added effects normally used for vocals I'm trying to create a spider's web that is a series of bell-like connections.

THE HOLY SPIRIT (LOOPDIGGERS CHRISTMAS CHALLENGE 2022)

“Purgatory Song” is based on a voice improvisation, which I recorded years ago for a collaboration with South African musician and visual artist Garth Erasmus, but never used. Later I added some sounds of a prepared piano, as an ironically broken allusion to the romantic “Kunstlied”. Much later I processed these elements together with electronic sounds to create the Purgatory Song.

Sunday summer rain. Bad weather for weeks now. Cold and wet. Time for a new improvisation. Sunday vibe. Like always, this one is a free spontaneous improvisation without any prior idea or plan. I simply love to "jump off that cliff" and start from scratch. Please enjoy. Recorded at home, today.
