Future Architects — a new project by producers Angelina Rose and Florian— cultivate a world of diverse club bangers in the 4-track EP.

Both producers combine to create Future Architects — a new project forged between like-minded spirits with musical passions for driving dub techno and grounded in sweaty mid-nineties parties. 

Rose, a Hanover-based, Ukraine-born producer, brings her classically-educated depth with producer Florian—label head of Charmin Records and co-founder of Too Rough 4 Radio—where they explore their mutual love for raw and edgy dancefloor bangers.

Prophetic Dreams. Marking it as the second release on Rose’s label "Solid Wood", Dreams builds upon the label’s ethos, rooted in honest yet uncompromising music, with tracks that range from driving dub techno in "Unseen Realms," burning IDM breaks ("Renaissance"), ascending melodic techno house ("Universe"), and an experimental acid 2-stepper in the closer, "Hierophant."

« Half of Tiger & Woods on a brillant release for SKYLAX RECORDS » 

If you ever wondered what it might be like to have a 707 or a Sampler instead of a pacemaker, you could always ask Valerio del Prete aka Delphi, who has been setting dancefloors around the world on fire for years. Delphi has displayed his mastery of acidized arpeggios and deep electronic tropes via an EP on Pigna, before linking up with Roman techno don dada Marco Passarani as the discotech duo Tiger & Woods. Several EPs and two albums of stripped back disco on Editainment and Running Back encapsulate their winning approach – reimagined loops from heady discotheques mixed through the axis of Rome, Chicago and Detroit. In 2016 he released the house/Italo/EBM stomper Blue Tuesday on a split 12” on Tiger & Woods own label T&W Records. For this new release, the brilliant producer (half of tiger & woods we repeat) kicks off the show with the very Italo-discoïde "donuts for dinner", nourished throughout by a monstrous kick and soaring synths. He poses as a worthy heir to the Italian masters of 80s pop who often used the B-side of their songs to experiment with their most adventurous ideas. Zequenz immediately made us think of an imaginary orgy between Ron Hardy and the members of Kraftwerk, this sound is incredibly sharp and would not have denoted on the decks of the legendary DJ. Which leads us straight to the most brawling track on the EP, the aptly named "Ron's lesson" and it is indeed a lesson. This crazy track (obviously dedicated to the legendary chicago DJ) seems to have come straight out of an imaginary session, we must remember how much at that time naivety and therefore distortion (!) Reigned over productions, giving an incredibly raw and edgy side on the dancefloor. Again, this song could have been released 30 years ago. And finally, to come full circle, the very graceful overheat joins the aesthetic of the first track in an elegant and dreamy way. Note that on the label's bandcamp, with the purchase of the vinyl, you can get 3 exclusive bonus tracks (Clutch play, Runinng in place, Sucker). The magic is here, CLEARLY.

Bad_Mix Mentindo para um computador EP

Samuel Malbon a.k.a. "Bad_Mix" is a reference as a producer, songwriter, DJ and is now the author of our 11th release. Between smoky jams with lots of synths and drum machines, he produced this EP which shows much of his versatility and personality. He is also one of the founders of "Caldo", a street party, and the nucleus "Obra" - and now he brings all of his musical baggage to our label.

“Mentindo para um Computador” (Lying to a Computer) is a collection of three tracks that feature variations of acid house, breakbeat and dub. Through spacial atmospheres and broken beats, Bad_Mix brings an acidity not only to the tones and also to the album's theme as a whole.

Underneath unlimited filters and exposure, we live in a time where the truth doesn't matter and lies do more than break hearts. We look in a mirror and don't perceive ourselves as who we really are or could be. Lying to a Computer is about lying to yourself.

It’s a pleasure to welcome Wilted Woman back into the fold for her second release on Phantasy. Whereas 2019’s ‘Lon Lon Night Vision’ signalled dystopian rave deconstruction, remixed by Laurel Halo (a “haphazard techno wrecker for unleashing your inner crazy clown”, as Resident Advisor put it), ‘Glossy Center’ reveals two tracks that maintains that same bass weight, while blossoming into the sort of arrangements that would render cyborgs dewy-eyed with unprogrammed emotion. Meanwhile, a club interpretation from Kim Ann Foxman, a linchpin of club culture in both the US and Europe, is singularly weaponised to melt their synthetic brains.

OO Recordings returns with the second edition of Splits - a meeting spot between two creative minds. This time around, we’re representing the vibrant local scene of Helsinki.

Kicking things off on the A-side we have emkay. Also known as Gem-K or Maria Korkeila, emkay is taking the listener into the depths of house and electronica, both with a unique and cheeky touch. emkay’s minimalistic (but in no means minimal) approach to electronic music, combined with her playful lyrics creates a state of musical being that is hard to pin down into a singular genre. The key to emkay’s sound is the way it invites the body to interact with the sound, from subtle swing to full-on body-rocking.

B-side features Stuster's takes on contemporary electro and acid. It’s what music with a sophisticated bang should be all about during the 2020’s Stuster's cuts lace heavy kicks with digi-synths and acidic basslines, and manage to bring together something from the very early days of electro with something very current. Stuster’s sound in general combines the creative thinking of a mind from the digital age with an interest in sounds of the past, always with a relentless attitude to taking things forward - both in sound as in dancefloor response.

All tracks on the release are dancefloor friendly but for very different moments of the night. The tracks share a subconsciously communicated ethos, perfectly summarizing what the Splits release series is all about.
