The man's work is something you should experience.

So Ladies and Gentlemen these are Jo's original words and poem:

Stepping out of the opening
at the foot of the spire, facing
the gaping, gasping plaza, the sun
behind him blotted out by the lean,
white purveyor of contemplation, he
shuddered the way one trembles
after narrowly escaping the lure
of prolonged exultation.

Up there, he knows, his muse
still combs and grooms the knotted
wisdom of her braids, humming
a tune of beauty. Up there, he
knows, rests his legacy in verse, scrolls
upon scrolls of scribbled glyphs,
each one a masterpiece of his
heightened sensory exaltation.

This is no path that could have been
avoided, she crooned into the waxen
ear of his remaining memory, as art
has always longed to be subjected
and enslaved, to suffer the necessity
of being forged on vulgar vices. Oh
for the kiln that never foregoes fire, he
would have wailed in common fury.

Is there a place where one who has
abandoned home can rest his head,
he asked. This world is made of places,
a passer-by replied. How can he who has
rescinded wells still quench his thirst, he
asked. All life is born from water, a passer-by
remarked. Who in the world are you, he
quizzed a passer-by, who would not answer.

And all the homes he saw were made
of brick and mortar, colour and concrete.
And all the forests he walked were brimming
with the secret of the spooky action at a
distance. He dared not raise his eyes too far.
He did, although, not hesitate to tame
his fears, revulsions, lusts, ambitions.
Yet all he touched turned into song sublime.

Re-Evolution Cafe' Orchestra is an multimedia, sound and art project, featuring sonic canvasses and videos for your perusing: "eclectic musings" and "musical disambiguation", sometimes with lyrical commentary, sometimes not even a mere word. Near an unassailable flow, memory re-asserts its musicality.

This is a really old free account that I started back when I first started making music. Aside from my old uploads on youtube, this is another archive of all my old unreleased shit.

New album Audio/Visual is now available on Spotify and for sale on BandCamp, features my favorite tracks from 2024-25. Releases to Spotify and other platforms on September 30th!

My genre influences include electronic, downtempo, lofi, experimental, rock, blues, indie, prog, post rock, ambient, synthwave, trip hop, and hip hop. 

My recent tunes are produced using Ableton Live, FabFilter suite plugins, and often feature synths like Pigments, Microfreak, and Minilogue XD. I'm also beginning to incorporate guitar a lot more!

Hello dear Soundcloud listeners,

I'm still determined to continue producing music, the music of Pier Will, which can only be heard on Soundcloud and which can also be recorded... for now.

The world of music is rapidly moving towards a huge upheaval where the true musician will very quickly become "rare," or even more and more of a shadow, a peculiarity, a memory. This time is not so far away, as AI takes a predominant place in everything that touches us and surrounds us and in Music, this can already be heard very clearly!

Apparently, everyone is taking this lightly, and the few diehards are being sneered at as anti-progress terrorists, for now. I already have two work computers disconnected from the internet, which house my software and everything I need to work. No more updates for them to work properly... updates are only necessary if you need to connect! Another computer is dedicated solely to internet connection and will be used exclusively for streaming the tracks.

This decision has serious consequences for my production, as there are no more options to add anything to it. It's a gamble, but for me, it's an obligation to remain completely independent and free from AI.

Je suis toujours déterminé à continuer à produire de la musique, celle de Pier Will, que l'on ne peut écouter que sur Soundcloud et qui peut aussi être enregistrée… pour l'instant.

Le monde de la musique s'achemine rapidement vers un bouleversement majeur où le véritable musicien deviendra très vite « rare », voire de plus en plus une ombre, une singularité, un souvenir. Ce temps n'est pas si lointain, car l'IA prend une place prépondérante dans tout ce qui nous touche et nous entoure, et en musique, cela se voit déjà très clairement !

Apparemment, tout le monde prend cela à la légère, et les quelques irréductibles sont méprisés comme des terroristes anti-progrès, pour l'instant. J'ai déjà deux ordinateurs de travail déconnectés d'Internet, qui hébergent mes logiciels et tout ce dont j'ai besoin pour travailler. Plus besoin de mises à jour pour qu'ils fonctionnent correctement… les mises à jour ne sont nécessaires que si vous avez besoin de vous connecter ! Un autre ordinateur est dédié uniquement à la connexion Internet et sera utilisé exclusivement pour le streaming des morceaux.

Cette décision a de graves conséquences sur ma production, car il n'y a plus aucune possibilité d'y ajouter quoi que ce soit. C'est un pari risqué, mais pour moi, c'est une obligation de rester totalement indépendant et libre de toute IA.

POETRY IS VITAL

This threshold space exists for those who feel like listening to some of my quite professional poetry embedded in rather amateurishly recorded but judiciously arranged sound, a modicum of purely acoustic work notwithstanding. SOUND, SPACE AND TIME

Tend your listening senses gently. Even though my general approach welcomes and embraces lo-fi concepts like the precision of spontaneously occuring imprecisions, headphones worth their membranes are recommended - unless you like your sounds flat, mangled, battered and helpless. You don't, do you? Be kind to these soundscapes.

STRUCTURING IMPULSE

Due to the nature of "poetry soundscapes", your listening expectations regarding traditionally structured "songs", sonically purified "raw wildlife soundscapes", keyboard-laden "ambient recordings" or voice-centered "readings" might not be met. You will find some of those in my list of /likes/. "Noise" is a recurring structural element like any other. This is what this sounds like - within its own rights, limitations, tangents and interconnections. Sonic structures. Silent stretches. Poetry emerges from the gaps between the ruts, seeps in from the undergrowth, sweeps down.

Above, there is a tiny poem of mine that I do not understand how to translate into sound. If you do - please act on it. It is a matter of common decency, of course, to keep the title (Small Gifts) and to credit the lyrics to me (jo richter). And please do notify me of your version via a soundcloud message. One bewilderingly beautiful version crafted by mono-lux has already gone public, as well as an amazing version by cthonicist.  You'll find both in my playlist Sympoetic Ultrasounds. This is just a small gift, not a challenge - life already has more than enough of those on offer, doesn't it? Treat it this way.
