This time we decided that this edition would take the form of a wonderful release, and in addition to its original, we hired two remixers who did a fantastic job re-interpreting “Mirianna”. You’ve already had a chance to hear and see both artists on our label, we won’t spend a lot of words on them, just fascinating lately, EMPHI and Chihaka!

Drinking to their tenth year in the game, Hive Audio enter 2022 with a celebratory compilation triptych featuring some of the finest names in the house and techno scenes. For this first salvo of incendiary wares bound to bring dance floors to a steady simmer, HA have gathered a stellar cast of big-guns and longtime affiliates including Seth Troxler, Anja Schneider, Steve Bug, Mathias Kaden, Gorge and Dario D'Attis. 

Anja Schneider's "Aperol Spritz" toasts first with a fuzzy mix of rolling 4x4 dynamics and sleek textured synth arpeggios. A paced-up number both lounge-ready yet lacking no oomph when a solid kickstart move is required, this one's better tasted on the rocks with a mini-umbrella in it. 

Old-school to the core, Dario D'Attis "Tanzstube" loops us in a turn-of-the-millennium filtered-house kind of headspace, replete with the soulful, sample-heavy hooks and end-to-end funky swagger bound to trigger some ravishing memories and create new ones amongst the dancers. 

A smashing, hard-shuffling workout hybridised with a Quadrant Dub type of distant lineage, Gorge's "Azami" goes for the epic-sized rather than the intimately acclimated. Primed for both hi-impact and long-distance use, this is gutsy stuff with enough stamina to withstand the most feverish of nights. 

Mathias Kaden's 303-boosted treat "Acid Trip" does exactly what's written on the tin, so expect a wild deluge of flickering new beat-informed rhythms, untamed drums and lysergic bass ellipses to keep you and your friends on the edge of mental sanity throughout.

Meanwhile, Seth Troxler's contribution "Crypto Slave" pulls out the sturdy bass leads and bouncy keyboard work for some fun roller-coaster action with something of a carefree, early 90s rave vibe to it. Ideal for gym-tonic sessions in your fav neon-coloured, form-hugging outfit. 

A most fitting manifesto of a tune, Steve Bug's overly suave "Let's Go" cuts a path of sense-awakening hedonism in the club with its battery of sizzling-hot bass, love-making-like churn and sensual pep talk oozing guilty pleasures ahead.

We at Ready Mix Records are delighted to drop our 209th release, the 'Translation EP' by Deep Active Sound, featuring remixes by Marco Grandi, David Kassi, Hernan Cerbello and Staves.

A musical project founded in 2009 by Mikhail Bessmertny, 'Deep Active Sound' has found favour with deep heads the world over, thanks to his effortless, intricate production style. 

Title track 'Translation' is no exception, with a synth-laden, spacey vibe and a truly masterful arrangement. 

Hungarian producer Marco Grandi is first up to remix 'Translation', bringing a floaty, melodic deep house feel to the track with uplifting chords and a rock-solid groove.

Respected Argentinian artist Hernan Cerbello tackles 'Translation' next, bringing a calm, brooding intensity to the track; teaching a class in tension and release. 

Hailing from Greece, David Kassi is last up to rework 'Translation', infusing a lightly swung, bouncy groove and creating a lively, vibrant version. 

Second original tune 'Other Culture' shows a more introspective side of Deep Active Sound, with hangdrum and percussion atmospheres lending an organic feel to this smooth and evocative piece. 

Finally, Italian duo Staves lay down a chunkier take on 'Other Culture', with Latin percussion and dub effects shimmering over heavy drums and warm bass.

Following the Stardancer EP and his remix for All I Need To Get High by Damian Lazarus & The Ancient Moons, Ae:ther unveils his most accomplished and daring work yet on the highly anticipated debut album Me released on Crosstown Rebels.

Blazing a trail with his natural aptitude for crafting emotive, captivating compositions that have landed him releases on Crosstown Rebels Afterlife and Fabric, Ae:ther presents his debut LP. The album is a painstakingly produced collection of haunting melodies and narcotic rhythms that display his love and inspiration for ambient electronica, deep underground music and introspective atmospheres, culminating in dreamlike soundscapes programmed with taut percussion. The album begins on Stardancer, setting the tone with gentle keys and space influenced licks that portray a cosmonaut ascending into the stratosphere. This moves into the glistening, atmospheric Finferli, where synths depict aliens conversing in a distant, just-discovered world. Sub-aquatic ambient fills We’ll be Together, boosts of energy and intricate melodies weave in and out of the vocal,
locked to the dubby groove.

Ice cold subtlety and the otherworldly electronics of Costes drip slowly like water down a pane of glass. A mood of relaxation and weightlessness continues on Tina, a tender beat combined with pattering echoed chimes. N.62, a special ethereal piece, features warm chords and reduced percussion, gradually developing like the morning sun rising.

Mysterious, playful charm unfurls on Elf, progressive harmony teases towards a crescendo before dropping back into the hypnotic beat. Clark is light and airy, funky melody constructing an interplanetary anthem. Stimulating a brooding mood, fuzzy clicks and glitches dance on the deep bass of Spektre II, conveying dust spraying off the surface of a moon landing. The shimmering ripples of electronica on title track Me fuse with delicate human vocals creating a heart-warming, personal account of Ae:ther’s relationship with his instruments. Trademark bleeps and blips wash over natural broken beats in one last final call to his utopia in the album outro.
