The tracks are mixed genre and the position in the playlist is not based on songs, is mixed by me to mix the genres, but all are there on merit.
The bands featured are from 8 differnt countries, England, Japan, Australia, America, Scotland, Sweden, France and Poland.

Colchester-based four piece, Anorak Patch, whose drummer is just 14 years old burst onto the scene last year with their debut singles, ‘Beans’ & ‘6 Week Party’, the latter of which making the BBC 6Music Playlist.

Keyboardist Effie Lawrence formed the group in late 2019 with high school friends Luca Ryland (drums) & brother Oscar (guitar), along with bass player Eleanor Helliwell and have been quick to announce themselves into the UK music scene with national airplay and press. ‘Irate’ continues to showcase the band’s immense musical talent at such a young age, the new cut which Draws inspiration from Queens of The Stone Age, System Of A Down & Black Midi, offers yet another side to the bands songwriting & recordings and marks them as one of the UK’s most exciting, young bands to emerge in recent times.

The band wrote Irate during the first lockdown, it displays how they felt as a collective. Effie and Oscar had just had their exams cancelled and their confusion is reflected in the lyric “what is in your head” this also aims to show how people were doing a lot of self reflection at this time.

The song shows how the band’s everyday lives were changed by the pandemic. “he takes a break from a world he loves” is referring to playing and going to gigs, something the band missed very much this year.

Opposing artistic tastes, divergent creative processes and yet a shared obsession with melody define the Virginia-based indie band, Stray Fossa. Brothers, Nick and Will Evans, and childhood friend, Zach Blount, grew up writing music together. Numerous monikers, solo efforts and a six-year hiatus later, in 2018, the three dropped everything, moved to Charlottesville, Virginia, built a studio into the attic of their house and began crafting songs together again.

How Come?" is the first single off of our debut full-length record, planned for April 2021. The track was recorded in a single session in our attic studio (and home) in Charlottesville, Virginia and produced by Will Evans (drums/vocals). The song feels like “a warm cocoon of lo-fi chill-wave nostalgia” and a “heart-rending blend of garage rock and dream pop” with “consistently superb vocal deliveries throughout."

Ahead of the release of their debut album later this year, West London’s The Roadside Bandits Project release the first single Sombre Circus as a taste of what’s to come. 
Already receiving critical acclaim from journalists and DJs around the globe for it’s down-tempo, tick-tocking beat driven by drummer Steve Barney (Annie Lennox, Will Young, Sugababes) and bass player Mark Neary (Noel Gallagher, Adele, Sting), the guitars, keyboards and programming for Sombre Circus was assembled by project main-man Santi Arribas. With recording, mixing and programming done between London’s Beauchamp Studios, the home of recently passed (and good friend of the project) Andy Gill of Gang of Four fame and Arribas’ The Mixing Factory deep in the heart of West London’s Ladbroke Grove, a rich musical history reverberates through the corridors of the track. 
Vocals feature US born, London based singer-songwriter Nell Bryden, when not receiving accolades on BBC Radio 2’s A- list throughout her career as an artist, presenting her own series of shows for the station and being covered by artists like Cher and Susan Boyle on their albums, is working with legendary record producer David Kershenbaum (Cat Stevens, Duran Duran, Tori Amos) on her own albums. She brings elegance and a sense of forlorn to the track.
Lyrically, Sombre Circus tells of the current state of the world, geopolitically and socially, referring to the refusal in recent years for the richer nations to accept refugees from countries hit by war and poverty. In the song’s opening verse the “fence” refers to Trump’s wall and what’s been happening at the borders of Mexico, Hungary and to a certain extent Brexit - anything that represents the closure of borders, while the “sergeant” represents the political class and the “devil” the oligarchs and big corporations – all in all a pretty “sombre circus”!
