Solid Steel (27th December) 2013 marked the 25th Anniversary of Solid Steel when Matt Black and Jon More from Coldcut started broadcasting together on pirate Kiss FM in 1988. It's been a year long celebration and we'd like to thank all the guests who have contributed incredible mixes throughout the year. To see off the year in style, we asked our listeners to vote for their favourite guest mix from the last 25 years and also their favourite mixes from our resident DJ's, with huge prizes up for grabs.

The guest mix you chose as your favourite from the last 25 years was Bonobo with his 'Directors Cut mix' of his Solid Steel Mix CD release "It came from the Sea", which was first broadcast on the 9th December 2005. It's his 2 hour version of the mix featuring tracks that didn't make the final cut including his own edit of Gang of Four and the brilliant Four Tet edit of Black Unity by Pharoah Saunders.

Up next it's your favourite mix from DK which was his 'Cymatic Frequencies' mix from the 21st January 2011. This was also his first solo AV mix and was packed full of musical highlights from 2010 and can be viewed here http://vimeo.com/19005861 Joy Orbison, Ramadanman and Maddslinky remixed by Toddla T all feature, alongside a Ninja Trio and a Big Dada double, plus James Blake, Caribou and Bassnectar.

Congratulations to Daniel Westlake from Tunbridge Wells in Kent, who was the winner picked at random in the competition and will receive prizes from Novation, AIAIA, Serato and Solid Steel.

London-born, Berlin-based Luca Lozano is the man behind house and techno label, @KlasseRecordings. Riding the same musical wave himself, the DJ/producer is all about heavy basslines and moody vibes. Teaming up with Klasse-signee Mr. Ho and his hip hop house, the duo have put together this exclusive mix for i-D. Whether you're looking for a new sound, searching deep within yourself or need to soundtrack an adventure, this is music to DISCOVER to.  

Here, Luca Lozana and Mr. Ho tell us about their own musical discoveries...
"These days most of my musical discoveries happen via the strange corners of the internet. A lot of the older tracks I enjoy finding are posted and talked about on strange nerd-blogs that seem to be only visited by a hardcore few. I currently buy a lot of music on vinyl and then rip it to WAV for playing in the club. These days I'm enjoying digging up gems of old, I'm stuck within the years of 90-94 at the moment, mining for all the good UK Techno that came out at that time. The tracks I selected for the mix are simply ones that I'm feeling, ones that are tried and tested both at home and in the club." - @lucalozano

"I get my music through either through promos, record shops or directly from some producer friends of mine. However, my most exciting discoveries are usually through just from talking and listening to friends chatting about music. Lenzman is a DJ and producer who exhibits tremendous talent in the many peripheral footholds of Drum & Bass. Originally started in the Hiphop scene, Dan crafted his style and microphone skills with approval of local soundsystems. When long time confidant Lenzman introduced Dan to Drum & Bass he found a new passion and began to start making a name in the Dutch scene. To broaden his horizon Dan explored different genres and performed at all the top Dutch venues and festivals. Dan Stezo released tracks Dan Stezo released music on various Dutch imprints such as BMKLTSCH RCRDS, Hardsoul Pressings and Spinnin Records.
