Stefano Curti, the visionary music producer and mastermind behind VIBRAPHONE Records, epitomizes the essence of Italy's internationally acclaimed Underground House Music scene. His journey through music began amidst the fervor of post-punk, weaving through the realms of industrial and electronic landscapes. In 1990, Stefano founded Vibraphone Records in the vibrant heart of London, with its maiden release, "NIGHT PASSAGE" by 49th Floor, etching its place in musical history. Crafted within the confines of Stefano's North London bedroom, this debut epitomized the true spirit of house music – raw, authentic, and unapologetically underground. Embracing a hands-on approach, Stefano personally distributed records from the trunk of his Fiat Panda, traversing the streets of London, forging connections with each shop and every DJ who craved the pulse of the underground.

New releases, enriched by the creative genius of remixers such as Larry Heard, Juan Atkins, Kevin Saunderson, and Derrick May, pay homage to the timeless allure of Stefano's sound.

We welcomed a long time veteran of the scene to the show, who joined me for a 2hr guest mix. Scott Braithwaite. 

Having been involved since day one, from remixing soundscape in the early 90’s.
To projects with Techno luminary Craig Walsh, moving to A&R, the architect behind many projects of yesteryear which paved a path for the deeper side of House & Techno, to critical acclaim.
Working for Kickin Records, home of Slip N Slide, Warlock, being the original A&R at Kickin records left, leaving Scott to compile many compilations from producers in the 90’s, including the ‘Elements of Jazz’ series, featuring 3MB feat:Juan Atkins, Dave Angel, Glen Underground, Dan Curtin, K Alexi, Patrick Pulsinger, Black Jazz Chronicles (Ashley Beadle), Model 500, Ian O’Brien, As One (Kirk Degiorgio).
Also, the Techno Nations Vol 6 & 7, featuring Monolake, James Ruskin, Surgeon, Kosmic Messenger, The Advent, Jay Denham, Space DJs, Joey Beltram, Drexciya, Planetary Assault Systems, then ‘The Freestyle Fusion’ compilation for Dynamite Joint recordings, featuring artists Stasis, Bandulu, Afronaught, The Cinematic Orchestra.
He has played all over the world and continues to this day.

Ralph Lawson should need no introduction as it would be impossible to list all that he has achieved in such a short space but here's a whistle stop tour anyway. 

Having cut his teeth as resident DJ at back to basics, even playing the first record in the club, before going onto become musical director and help the club to win multiple awards. Ralph has gone on to perform across the globe in countless famous venues too long to list but including The Hacienda, Sub Club, fabric, The Loft Barcelona, Space & DC10. 

Ralph also founded 20/20 Vision Recordings, a label as relevant now as it was when founded back in 1995 that has released music from an eclectic range of artists as musically diverse as Crazy P, Maya Jane Coles, Christian Loffler, Carl Finlow and Voigtmann over 400 releases. There is something very incredibly special about that in our eyes, with multiple releases spanning the years still never leaving the bags of us here at W.A.P.

When you take a step back and look at Ralph’s history and musical knowledge as a DJ, giving this mix a spin is a no brainer. The man quite simply loves music and that is so very evident in the unique and fresh energy he brings to each & every set. 

We are blessed & honoured to have Ralph kick off our new series with a journey into the brain courtesy of new mycelium networks. From a slow chuggy start the mix builds into mind expanding acid house while being nailed to the floor by cabinet shaking bass along the way. This is full frequency mixing to be enjoyed on a road trip…

Danny Berman aka Red Rack'em is described by Juno Records as 'one of the most respected figures in UK underground house circles'. Creator of classics 'Wonky Bassline Disco Banger' (hammered by DJ Harvey, Moodymann and even Elton John), 'In Love Again', 'How I Program', 'Kalimba', 'Tomato Pope', he's also a much loved broadcaster working with SWU.FM, Rinse FM, WWFM and NTS and guest spots on BBC Radio 1 for Pete Tong, Mistajam and Gilles Peterson. He's been even more busy during the pandemic supporting other artists with his 'How I Program' music producer community.

Since returning to the UK (after 8 years in Berlin), he's been releasing killer records like 'Wonky Techno Banger', 'Overthinking' and his Red Baron collab with Ron Basejam from Crazy P (huge support from Gerd Janson, Avalon Emerson and more), as well as undertaking huge tours of USA, India and Asia playing at clubs like Tag in Chengdu (Chinas Berghain), Rhonda in LA (one of the hottest pan sexual parties in the US) and Smart Bar in Chicago.

He's a super adaptable DJ, just as comfortable playing blazing disco boogie at Pickle Factory in London, deep house at TV Lounge in Detroit or raw swingy techno at Mothers Finest in Berlin.
