R|Y|M Podcasts 2014

Chasing Kurt is a newborn deephouse project from Gießen / Germany - a collaboration between Pascal Blanché, Wojtek Kutschke and Lukas Poloczek. Pascal and Wojtek, both deephouse lovers for long years, started doing their first tracks but always had the need of a lovely vocal for their songs. Wojtek, himself DJ for a long time, one day played in his hometown - at the same time Lukas worked at a bar in this location and after Wojteks set he was singing some phrases while closing the bar – Wojtek heard his voice and asked Lukas if he would like to jam together. The track “Daydream“ was the result of their first improvised jam session in Pascals small homestudio. The Kurts were overhelmed about it and found themselves to be good men for doing more of this.

DJ, producer, remixer and promoter from Warsaw with over ten years of experience. Over the years he shared decks with a big guns of music industry like Danny Howells, Nic Fanciulli, Guy Gerber, Oxia, James Zabiela, Robert Dietz, Noir, Nick Curly, Mario Basanov & Vidis, Nick Warren or Pete Tong to name a few. 
At first he started to release his own productions under Simon.S alias. His debut remix was released together with The Buick Project (Nic Fanciulli & Andy Chaterley) on a British imprint SIC Recordings back in 2007. From that moment he appeared on labels such as Big & Dirty, Starlight Music, Uberbeat or Sandy Rivera’s Blackwiz Records. 
The beginning of 2011 brings a new music ideas as well as a new artist name. Simon starts to perform and produce under Simon Mattson umbrella working his way up towards new releases. Consequent and persistent in what he does best his music gets bigger attention followed now by releases on respected labels including legendary Strictly Rhythm, Defected Records, Rebirth, Lo:Rise (Defected sublabel), Cubsim, Beef Records or Agoria’s InFine Music with a remix for well known dj & producer Oxia. Alongside all releases his tracks got included many great compilations like Defected In The House Brazil '11, Pacha Ibiza Southamerican Sessions, Space Ibiza Closing Fiesta, Island Balearic Sundown Sessions, Defected presents Most Rated Ibiza 2012 or Bargrooves Deeper 2.0 gaining him more reputation within his field. With huge support from many known artists including Mendo, Gorge, Oxia, Djuma Soundsystem or Sandy Rivera, tracks regularly charted and his last remix of Oxia still being in Top5 Bestsellers of Agoria’s InFine Music label after more than a year from the release Simon Mattson has definitely got attention from music industry.

Sometimes all it takes is a push. 
.... the voice of Kerri Chandler fades in. "You can't lie to house music". 

Thats all what it took for a young Christian Nielsen to fall deeply in love with the (at the time) unknown ''4 to the floor''. It didn't take long before his brand new DJ bag was filled with Kerri, Jimpster, Mr. V, Master At Work, Larry Heard, Moodymann, Frankie Knuckles and many more. 

All that was left was another push. This time, the push came from within. With his new Macbook, Christian started his journey that has now resulted into where he is today.

Kia grew up in the Rhein-Main area in Hessen,Germany. At a very young age she was already interested in going out and had her first contact with electronic music in different clubs in Frankfurt. It didn`t take long for her to realize that it wouldn`t be enough to just listen or dance to this sound. Kia decided to do something and become one of the unfortunately very few Djanes.
Her style is to be situated somewhere between House and Techno. To her the most important is the good selection of tracks in her set. She loves to look for records in second hand shops, record stores or in the internet for hours. In her environment she had great support from Vera and Dorian Paic (Robert Johnson). During that time Kia could learn a lot and managed to develop her own style.

R|Y|M Podcast 121: Smalltown Collective

For many years Re:Fresh Your Mind (R|Y|M) has been a pillar of subcultural development in the Rhine-Main area and on a national level mainly focusing on event organization. Though the events have expended lately not only in Frankfurt but also on a national level due to its musical diversity and generally speaking because of its openness towards changes in the scene.  Understandably Re:Fresh Your Mind is conceived as a platform for a subcultural exchange between artists and music lovers initiated by SKAI and his Re:Fresh family, which include a few well respected DJs. With the label-launch of R|Y|M Records earlier this year Re:Fresh Your Mind-basis enhanced its reputation in the scene and takes another step in its development. Therefore, Frankfurt based SKAI teamed up with Gorge, who is well respected for his solo-productions and of course his works with Nick Curly. You never know what to expect next, but be sure it won't be anything you can be certain about when talking about R|Y|M - Re:Fresh Your Mind.
